Villas-Boas on Sir Bobby Robson

Only a short piece on Football Focus this afternoon, but the current Spurs manager basically credited the man in your banner for changing his life.
I'd heard the story about it before, but never from the horses mouth.
That a man of Robson's undoubted pedigree took time to listen to a kid that supported the side that he managed is credit enough to him, but to put that youngster's passion to good use is something else entirely.

Great character, great manager and a credit to each of his clubs.

 

Apparently they had a great appreciation of each other, despite Villas-Boas being a very young coach back then. I'm sure Bobby would be proud of him to see how well he has done recently at Tottenham.

 

Villas-Boas wasn't even a coach when they met, BoC.
He was a 17-year-old student, who wanted to be a sports journalist.

Bobby Robson Best England manager ever and a truly decent human being.

 

Amazing to see he still has a massive reputation all over the world and I dont think anyone could have a bad word to say about the man, one of footballs greatest.

 

I like Villas Boas and I feel the press are out to get him since he struggled at Chelsea, however his croaky voice really really grinds on me.

I think he need some helium before interviews or perhaps a good throating.

Without looking at the interview, I'm sure you are more up with me, I just heard it mentioned once and thought it was said he was a coach. I know he has spoken on a few occasions about his respect for Sir Bobby and certainly seem to be proving himself at Tottenham, after your usual poor August.
