    As I posted simultaneously:

Brilliant stuff, a day out for everyone, nothing to lose, all to gain.

The only side to get sniped at in the whole draw of course were the budgies 'who have never reached an FA Cup Final.' Hadn't realised that <laugh>

Bring it on! I can see us getting something from this, but as others have said if we don't then it is nothing lost.

Think Mr. Lambert will be smiling. Seems to enjoy playing us. But with Villa struggling and with us finding some new life i think we should be able to make a good game of it and getting a win is not unthinkable.

Mick has to give serious thought to this match, this could be a good time to field fringe players, and some youth players. Lets look at this logically, we have made a great improvement in the last few weeks, but lets not kid ourselves, we are still in a relegation battle. lots of tough league matches still to come, which we all know will be played at high intensity. We know we are not going to win the cup, and if we did go on a run in the cup, there very well might be replays to contend with, if we draw at Villa, we face the possibility of playing Barnsley on the Saturday, with them having an extra rest period. Think you will find that historically that there have been many teams in the past, whose league form has suffered, or indeed relegated because of a cup run. So I preach caution.

Will Hampy be going to the cup game?

If he does then he will be attending more games in 2013 than he did in 2012.

Treacle you are turning into one serious stalker!

I have mixed memories of Villa Park. The last FA Cup semi final game we played there back in 1981 when we lost in Extra Time. I remember Kevin Beattie breaking his arm resulting in him playing his last ever game for us. I also remember some of the Man City crowd spitting at him as he was being helped off the pitch.

Didn't they reach the semi-final back in the late 1950s only to be dumped out by the mighty Luton Town?

If things dont improve for Villa will Paul " for christs sake get me out of Norwich as fast as you can " Lambert still be there ? None of us have been to Villa Park so there will be 4 of us going and as has been said theres nothing to lose.
Hey turnip tell us all about the time you watched your side win the FA Cup and the EUFA Cup, I think we ll have to wait a very long time for that. Do you actually go to matches? or are you an armchair supporter? Hows the family?

Did you know we have made as many FA Cup semi finals as Ipswich have? Shame we never made it to the final mind, one day maybe <whistle>

Did you know City have played in 4 more League Cup final games than Ipswich? Oh yeah, I forgot. The League Cup is conveniently meaningless to Ipswich Town <laugh>

Hahahaha, no one cares about the number of times a team reaches a semi final! The trophy cabinet stays empty. Although knowing you boys you would get out the open top bus....

You have really made it to two League Cup finals. The first one was like the JPT of the sixties. While you were competing against fourth division Rochdale, we were playing sides like Milan in the European Cup! As for the two-legged thing - t's typical of a budgie to try to pump up their 'achievements' by any means possible <laugh>

We were too busy beating the likes of Barcelona, Lazio and Real Madrid in those days to worry too much about the poxy league cup!
