Another 21,000-plus crowd at Ashton Gate this weekend.
    • All tickets permitted by safety authorities sold out
    • Another 21,000-plus crowd in BS3
    • City haven't faced Villa since 1982
City’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Aston Villa has sold out.

Sales for the Ashton Gate fixture have reached the current limit permitted by the safety authorities.

It will be the second 21,000-plus crowd to watch City in action at Ashton Gate, after 22,512 were in attendance for the clash with Newcastle United last weekend.

There will be no further sales and no tickets available on the day of the game.

Meanwhile, tickets for City’s home encounters with Derby County (September 17th) and Leeds United (September 27th) are now on sale.

For the Derby game, the club is offering a special “quid a kid” ticket promotion. Buy online or by calling 0117 963 0600.

It's good to break the 20k barrier again, but what's this 'health and safety' stuff?
Is there a design flaw in the new stand? We were supposed to have a capacity of 27k but are sold out at 22.5k. Surely that's not 4.5k left empty for segregation reasons?!!!

Bloody crazy, someone has to be paying for the losses,we could easily sell at 27500 seats if available.

Seems like the contractors have a lot to answer for.

Yeah no way that's segregation. Either the stand isn't finished to the standard it needs to be for full capacity, or the relevant authorities need more ramp up events before full capacity can be allowed.

the club issued a statement on the 20th " the ground is fully open" but with NO definitive information on seating capacity / segregation.
It would seem the missing 4.5k could be away support, but only 2 teams would be likely to bring that many and 1 of them have gone......
villa could benefit as being closer and having more time to purchase as being the team that holds the crowd record for this season

That's what worries me - our 2 biggest guaranteed games this season were Newcastle and Villa. It looks like both will be around 22.5k. That's only 3k more than the old AG used to sell out at.
That's a lot of money spent to increase maximum capacity by 3k!!!!

Whatever needs to be 'fixed' is going to be too late for this season - unless we reach the playoffs that is......

Effectively we are a game behind because we made the pre-season freindly a match against a League 2 side (because they were behind schedule)

If that had been against a big club it could have counted towards fulfilling all the (endless) saftey stuff

I too was disappointed to see the supposed attendances be below the stated capacity of the ground. Are Health and Safety concerned about City supporters imitating the lemmings?

It's piss poor whatever the reasoning.

There has been ample time to get this stand completed, and signed off, but for reasons unknown this hasn't happened.
And as a double insult, the period when we are still playing to smaller crowds because of the delay has coincided with our 2 biggest home games. If it's a delay caused by the contractors, then I hope we're taking them for every penny in lost revenue.

I don't know, £80,000 based on £25 a ticket kids (cheaper than adults so average) = 3200, now 22500 fans in the ground that would mean 25200.
I would seriously doubt we would of sold an extra 3200 seats anyway.
So probably 80k a game the club was on a few grand bonus.

its £135k per game as a penalty clause but would be pro rata to the amount not finished.

We will not be selling 27k tickets on a regular basis anytime soon!
