Utter ****e. A shadow of the team we have enjoyed watching this season. No communication between the defense and the keeper, no shape in midfield and **** all up front. they played like they had something else on their mind......can't imagine what!! We, like so many other teams, should have strengthened in the transfer window but failed to do so and could be a defining moment in our season. Mason MOM for me. We desperately need a striker CIC
Sorry Concerned the view from 114, Row G wasn't that bad. First half was like a game of chess with both teams more or less cancelling each other out. Mason's introduction livened us up second half so I don't think it is fair to call his contribution "not a lot" - in fairness you did make him your MOM. Second half was pretty even although we had more threat. However the subs from both sides changed the game. Bednar and Phillips made their game more direct and I still don't know why McNuggs went off. We were pretty solid until then but as soon as he goes off we concede 3. Not blaming Darcy but we lost all our shape at the back then. I agree on the communication point, Marshall and Gerrard, Turner and Gerrard, Talyor and Gerrard - bit of a common theme there although until we conceded I was thinking that Gerrard and Turner were starting to perform well as a pairing with a general rule - don't give Gerrard time to think when he has the ball as that can be dangerous. Reports say that Malky made big efforts to bring in more new faces but was not successful. I agree with him that we need new people to improve the team and not just for the sake of having new faces in they are no better than what we have. Lets see what the loan window brings this week before we get too critical. This is football. We won't win every game and we will lose some more before the season end. Lets hope Malky and the boys do what they have done after every previous setback this season and come back with a win at Leicester.
gerrard always had mistakes in him, it was a poor performance, a bad day at the office but its not as if blackpool were all over us, they were crap the entire game and had a late flurry of goals, bad goals to see having watched them again, all were the result of mistakes from either the keeper or defender.. they're allowed an off day, hopefully we can bounce back vs leicester
Sorry Swampy - Blackpool were not crap the entire game at all. They came with a purpose and Holloway set them up correctly with a game plan that worked. It wasn't pretty, but they got all three points - that's the way to do it. A late flurry of goals is correct though - they got them and not us. We were the home side and it was our responsibility to react to that sort of opposition. We had an extremely bad day across the board teamwise and failed to deal with it. Making Mason MOM says it all. He was indeed that, but then again he had very little to beat from his senior team mates.
