http://www.espnfc.us/barclays-premi...vieira-picks-jose-mourinho-over-arsene-wenger Think the guy is just bitter because as he says, nobody from the club contacted him for a managerial role, the guy must be stupid or really ungrateful if he says Mo had more influence over him than Wenger, when he just played (barely) under Mo for 18 months, while Wenger moulded him into the world class player he turned into. You'd think he would show some loyalty with the knowledge about the bitter feud between Wenger and Mo, what a **** head, the guy has always struck me as a prick ever since he left as, and ungrateful for what we did for him.
Still an Arsenal legend. But he is only interested in money, same as all the players that left our club at that time.
Not sure if you're joking but Vieira is an Arsenal legend. He was instrumental in bringing success to Wenger's early Arsenal career and was pivotal in forming one of the greatest Premier league teams, the invincibles. He is entitled to his opinion, as was Roy Keane when he spoke of Fergie. But It doesnt make them any less legendary for their respective clubs than the other players they played with.
Yeah, his record in getting sacked. When Mo actually does something like Wenger, as in build something like he has done at Arsenal get back to us, all Mo does is move to a club, gets funding, and then pisses off after a few years. Wenger could have easily jumped shipped many times to the biggest clubs in the world including R Madrid, but he has remained at Arsenal, building a new era in this club. Mo has never and never will go to a club and leave a mark that will still be felt 100 years after like Wenger has. Wenger has laid a foundation that will allow this club to move to success years and years after he is gone. From the Emirates stadium, to the world class training facilities, to the philosophy, and to making this club a very rich (financially as well) prospect.
If anyone could have the choice of one Invincibles player, who would that be? Love to take Henry but I think we would benefit more from having Vieira or Tony Adams right now.
I agree, he would significantly improve our team. He would give us that extra bit of power and leadership in the middle of the park.
Henry, in a flash. The bloke was literally a one man demolition job. He could score from basically anywhere in any situation and you always knew that no matter what the score, Henry had the potential to turn the game on it's head. His goalscoring record as our highest ever scorer speaks for itself.
p.s This would make a good thread, with a poll and some fancy pictures. I can't be arsed to do it though. Anyone any good with the fancy bells and whistles stuff ?
Hard to argue with that. But for me, our main weakness is in the middle at the moment and the big powerful Vieira would make us a stronger and harder to beat team.
