Excellent - I always thought that that dinosaur (aka Blatter) was responsible for delaying it's use!!!!!
I've advocated it's use for exactly the incidents listed - Technology would only be applied to key incidents concerning goals, red cards, mistaken identities and penalties. It's also good to see that if a player commits a foul in the penalty area and a penalty is awarded, then the player committing the foul won't automatically be sent off.

I've always thought a player being sent off for committing a foul in the penalty area is a double punishment unless it's for violent conduct! To send a keeper off for attempting to get the ball is ludicrous!

The fact that it has been used successfully in Cricket, Rugby and Tennis for years now suggests that somebody in the football governing bodies has had a hidden agenda against it.
So much at stake these days and pressure on the officials to get everything right that this can only help
clubs, players, managers and ultimately lead to a fairer contest for everyone connected <ok>

Perhaps it will stamp out the more controversial incidents going 'for' the big clubs and against the 'smaller' clubs but I'm not holding my breath.

Absolutely KIO and at least we can agree on something!!! <ok>
As I said earlier - it's amazing how quickly it's being talked about as soon as Blatter is no longer in charge!!! <laugh>

Can only be a good thing and I don't think watching video playback of key incidents would slow down the game at all; whenever referees make a big decision they are surrounded by players desperately pleading to them anyway.
I also think officials should have the microphones like in rugby so we can hear what they are saying. That would have given the ref at our last home game a chance to explain his decision on the 'back pass' to Courtois so he could say; "the ball came off Cameron Jerome".

    Yep bring it on!!

Aside from assisting with some of the critical decisions already mentioned, it may reduce some of the pathetic diving and "simulation" in the penalty areas as well where it leads to a penalty or sending off decision.

Another plus for our game would be to have an
Official Timekeeper (as in Rugby)to stop the
    clock when required etc.
This would tell us all exactly how long we have
left in a game, and do away with the Ref guessing
    how long to add on
