In terms of quality I would say Schneiderlin vs Newcastle. On terms of what i felt at the time i think Clyne vs Liverpool. I thought, yeah we are going to be ok.
Where can you even start? Some great goals. Clyne's against Arsenal. Schneiderlin's. Wanyama's two vital goals in 1-0 victories. Pelle's overhead kick. Corkie's goals after such a long time. I love the fact that we score from distance these days...not just trying to walk them in...and that goals are also coming from midfield and defence. Forster really needs to step up to the plate .
Enjoyed them all, but Nat's goal against Liverpool, where Tadic suckered Lovren was pretty pleasing? I would say that Jack really needs to improve his goal celebrations now that he's become a goal machine?
Immense pleasure from all of them. In terms of quality there are a big percentage of them that are very well worked goals and/or goals of individual skill. But the OS asked which one gave the most enjoyment and that's difficult to remember already. Clyne's strike against Arsenal definitely, but also Tadic's penalty, because that whole League Cup evening was wonderful. We played some really great football at times, some of which I didn't realise we were capable of. I'm sat here thinking and thinking about this, and you know what..? I can't decide. They're all enjoyable because they add another goal to the Saints total. Even the own goals [although two of them are ridiculous being own goals].
1. Clyne v Arsenal 2. Pelle v QPR 3. Wanyama v Hull 4. Schneiderlin v Newcastle 5. Wanyama v Sunderland
I'm torn but I've settled on 1. Vergini (og) sublime skill executing a dipping volley from the edge of the box. 2. Bridcutt (og) using the rarely seen backward dribble technique before netting. 3. van Aanholt (og) deft deflection to wrong foot the goalie. Not easily seen even in slow motion (courtesy of the DGP). Will we be lucky enough to see goals of such quality all in the same game again?
I forgot how relieved I was when Wanyama blasted one past Swansea. I thought we'd thrown away two points. For aesthetic reasons however, Pelle vs QPR is my favourite.
It's often on such turns of events that championships can be said to be won or relegations avoided. Of course, it isn't those, it's every game, but it's a human way to think so.
Any particular Pelle goal or is it obvious..? I think his first against Stoke was superb. The QPR one tops the lot. It also tops the list of goals scored so far in the PL, by all teams.
I would probably say the Pelle goal via QPR because I was right there and it was stunning, but it's not that obvious a winner. There are some super goals in there...Wanyama's distance shot, Clyne's winner at Arsenal are just two. Keep on scoring like that and this is going to be a terrific season.
When we had a vote for which goal was the best in the Sunderland game, some people actually voted for the Vergini own goal, because they said it was s super strike. But he didn't mean it, so that made it a ****ty goal of really poor skill. Just because it looked good doesn't mean to say it was. Pelle's bicycle kick against QPR was immense. That was entirely meant, as Jason Roberts reminds us [2.20mins] :
Not entirely sure. I take it you've tried copying it via not606? In which case, click the link and then copy from the URL bar at the top.
Thank you very much. Have now managed to send to my overseas Saint supporter friends and one chelski fan so he has an idea of what to expect on the 28th. Hope it's a bit of a shock for him!!
