http://www.sportingintelligence.com...e-of-transatlantic-sporting-disconnect-11090/ Especially the part at the end on Flanno.
The whole thing is cringeworthy, why the **** did FSG agree for LFC to take part. We're getting ripped over the program even before it airs.
This whole idea just gets worse with every little piece that gets released. Not looking forward to it coming out because it looks like all it is going to do is make the supporters cringe.
Is this the Liverpool owned by FSG, which features a bloke called John Henry, who recently spoke about The Liverpool Way? I can almost hear Shanks spinning in his grave. Why am I not surprised Rodgers has a big picture of himself hanging in his house?
Really strange that, I know you have to have certain ego but a picture of yourself? I would expect that out of Mourinho. Then again...... It will be interesting, just hope it isn't too cheesy, Fox are known to be cheesy as ****. If it was ESPN it would have probably been a really good story. Anyone who has time check out the 30 for 30 shows about just different stories, one gripping one is Escobar vs Escobar, detailing Columbia before, during, and after the 94 WC.
1) What the **** does BR have to do with the sanctioning of this documentary, why mention him? 2) Do you have a reliable source to back up this ludicrous claim?
a few journalists have seen the programme and have said it was quite enjoyable (and not as embarrassing as we first feared!). They also said that Kenny's sacking isn't shown ...
The picture was given to BR as a gift as a thank you from a Charity he's done a lot to help and has great sentimental value to him. Thats come from BR himself. A JOurno I speak to from time to time has seen the first episode and says its good, even a little boring TBH. There is absolutely nothing embarrassing or controversial he said. Kennys sacking isn't shown in any way, only referred to, and he basically said its just a huge PR job orchestrated by FSG and Fox to promote LFC and 'soccer' strongly and very positively in the US. FSG want the brand pushed in the US to create more fans which equals $$$ nd Fox want average Americans to be drawn into Premier League football by watching the documentary to boost ratings to bring in more money through advertising. He said its basically just a piece of propaganda for LFC and gets a little boring and hopes the following episodes goes into more details and shows more behind the scenes stuff as there wasn't really anything new shown in the first episode.
I have watched nearly all of them 30 for 30 films, some really good stories. Into the wind was one of the most moving films I have ever seen.
He does come across a little David Brent and a bit of a tit, but in fairness I sure many managers are the same. If it uses a formula like Hard Knocks (HBO series in the states about a chosen pre-season NFL team, which even though I know little about the sport I became a bit addicted to when found online) then it should at least be interesting. One thing for sure is, no matter how favourable it has been edited, its going to provide bountiful resources for the wums.
Another good one is " THe Franchise" that follows the brand new Florida Marlins and their trials and tribulations. You will love Ozzie Guillen.
I know but you just look at the teams they could have had in the 90's and early 2000's just incredible. Sad really though. And even still the countries who have split split again, Czechoslovakia, Serbia & Montenegro, Macedonia I believe as well, and there is rumblings of Bosnia and Herzegovnia going seperate ways as well. crazy.
1) Because the article mentions him. 2) What ludicrous claim? The article says he has a picture of himself in his house. It's their claim, not mine. If you're trying to suggest I made some reference to BR sanctioning the documentary I suggest you read my post again and stop making ludicrous claims.
