Will the doom merchants be happy this weekend to be proved right after all of these weeks? Gedddon bheys sort it out. You can win this one...........(gulp) COYG
Since the beginning of March Wigan have not played at home any top contending teams. Oldest games first. Wigan...1-1...Bolton Wigan...3-0...Accrington S Wigan...1-2...Cambridge Wigan...4-1...Morecambe Wigan...1-0...AFC Wimbledon Wigan...2-0...Fleetwood So nothing too scary there.....anything Cambridge can do....so can we ? Our problem at the moment is that we have only scored one goal in our last five matches.
It seems that Steven Sessagnon will be filling in yet again for Joe Edwards.....not really shown his ability in a green shirt as yet.....about time that he did....this might be his last chance....assuming hopefully Edwards will be back next week. If we lose today we could end up in the dreaded 7th position....two of those that can leap frog us have home games today.....we don't want to be depending on winning next week and hoping others will drop points.
Whatever will be will be Plym. It's a very tough game but we've won harder... and lost easier. The injuries are a shame... we had a settled side for quite a while, not so much lately.
Cooper, Grant, Gillesphey, Scarr, Wilson, Sessegnon, Mayor, Houghton, Broom, Hardie, Jephcott. Subs Burton, Ennis, Garrick, Randell, Law, Crichlow, Craske. Camara out injured...just when he was back on top form....unlucky for Argyle for this vital run in.
Did you think it would be 0-3 by now? Definitely tough going. Wigan are playing diagonal balls when Argyle do advance. The wing back on t’other side needs to be careful about getting too far forward too soon, which will cramp our style.
0-0 at H/T....but we're under the cosh.....missing our two regular injured players today....totally depending on our defence....mid-field looking light and attack out of sorts scoring wise......no shots on goal at all yet.....had one corner Best result possbly a 0-0 draw. Sunderland been playing against 10 men since the 16th minute....should be good for their goal difference unfortunately.
Better in the second half: 1-1 denying Wigan certain promotion. All down to MK Dons on Saturday. Can’t wait and probably won’t be able to bear it in the day. Last time we were in this position we won… was it 6:1? I’ll take that again.
