Match Day Thread versus Portsmouth

I'm going to forego the what could possibly go wrong phrase because we all know by now.

Over the last few seasons we have what could be described as a half decent record against Pompey. Dockyard Derby or not, we are going to be hard pressed to improve our record. Will be a pretty big crowd I would guess so the atmosphere should also be pretty impressive. If you can't play well in front of a big crowd and vocal support then who can you play well against. If they are on their game then they could well rip us apart and if we play like we have been doing then we might just let them. I hope neither is the case.

what do I think.....no idea really. I will be maintaining my 100% attendance record for this season (don't worry , it wont last) . I have a feeling in my water that we might just do this , but in reality, a point would be a good outcome. No needless penalties (against) and 0-0 at HT then I think we will win!

 

Joe Mason signs on loan to Portsmouth until January....but not in time to play against us today.

 

A pity you couldn't bring in Remi Matthews on loan for the game

 

4:1:4:1 again as at Millwall. Fox, Carey, Lameiras and Ryan Taylor all on the bench.

Accentuate the positive, we have attacking options on the bench lol.

One down and no big shock is it.

 

Looking at the stats we are being put to the sword a bit. Somebody tell them we are allowed to have a go. Going to be a very long afternoon.

 

Sod it get Carey and Lameiras on.

 

They must have heard me as the efforts on goal went from 1 to 3 and one of them was even on target. Blimey. I still think this is going to be a long old day. At least we still have 11 on the pitch which is more than Sunderland have. Still early days yet we could lose one before the end.

 

Better for the last 10 mins or so before HT, with Ness (who seems to be playing well) and Sarcevic featuring.

Damage is done though and the more we push forward, the more you worry we'll concede another.

A lot of bitching on Twitter about the absence of Carey and/or Lameiras but they weren't doing much in earlier games. You can't pick players on reputation only only performance and I can't see what else Adams can do.
