I've been reading the comments of the Oldham manager manking about how far his little cherubs have to travel this Saturday and it being so close to Daddy Christmas calling as well. I've also been reading that Argyle fans will have to travel further than any other football fans in the Country if they go to the next 2 games and pay more than any other fan of the 92 clubs in the football league. I'm so shocked at that information aren't you? I mean fancy little old Argyle having that stat against it this Christmas. The fact it has been thus for bleddy years seems to pass some by. Stop fecking moaning Oldham because you have little to moan about. As for the match well I can't find much to say about Oldham after that so I just hope upon hopes we send them home on Saturday with nothing to show for their whinning. COYG stuff em for christ sake. p.s. It still won't be easy though despite the above.
A good stuffing is on the cards not just the turkey! Change their tactics and whoop the Latics I say.
Feeling confidant for this one (but then again its Friday night so I always do!) . Think it might be a quite comfortable 3-0 followed up by a boxing day win that will see us above the relegation zone. A bit of a funny one, but will loads turn up because there is no more football until NY day?, or will everyone be Christmas shopping?. I predict a crowd close to 10K.
I know we should concentrate on what we do and not what others do but have to say tonight's scoreline could have been better for us. Hope it's not going to be one of those weekends.
Fear not. I don't fancy Northampton, AFC Wimbledon or Doncaster's chances today. Main thing is that we get a result.
Oldham did put five past Northampton.......a draw wouldn't be the end of the world against them...they're on the up.
Threlkeld returns, Taylor-Sinclair doesn't make the bench, presumably through injury. Jervis and Grant chopped after poor performances last week. Carey amd Lameiras wide with Songo, Fox and Diagouraga in a three or some variation thereon. Lameiras plays against the team he was thought to be joining. Tactics or marketing? Exactly as I predicted, Northampton are 1-0 against Blackburn at half time. May have to edit my earlier comment out in a minute. 29Roos 18Threlkeld 5Edwards 15Bradley 3Sawyer 4Songo'o 11Lameiras 24Fox 32Diagouraga 10Carey 19Taylor Substitutes 2Miller 8Ainsworth 14Jervis 16Grant 21Wylde 31Cooper 33Sangster
Threlkeld, Edwards, Bradley, Sawyer Songo'o Carey, Diagouraga, Fox, Lameiras Taylor 4:1:4:1 and also 1-0 to Argyle after 3mins, Diagouraga from a Taylor assist.
Plymouth Argyle FCVerified account@Only1Argyle 1m1 minute ago More Oldham had a corner, well delivered, but Argyle broke through Fox,, then Carey. G got stopped, but the ball fell to Toums. He played to Tayls, who held up, then flicked back to Toums. He went round the goalkeeper, and rolled home. #pafc
I can't keep up with this, 2-0, Carey Plymouth Argyle NewsVerified account@HeraldPAFC 2m2 minutes ago More GOAL!!! Argyle 2-0 Oldham! Graham Carey with a delicious lob! http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/live-plymouth-argyle-v-oldham-970544?123… #pafc #oafc
Plymouth Argyle FCVerified account@Only1Argyle 1m1 minute ago More Lovely goal. Yann to Toums, who fell down, but still got the ball to Taylor. Knock back to Fox and a lovely ball over the top. Carey ran though, and lobbed the goalkeeper rushing out to him. 2-0, and only just over five minutes played. #pafc I'm having a shower now. Expect 4-0 by the time I get out.
Plymouth Argyle FCVerified account@Only1Argyle 15m15 minutes ago More Carey terrorising after another ball through by Fox. Deflected shot, corner. #pafc Plymouth Argyle FCVerified account@Only1Argyle 44s44 seconds ago More Just stunning by Argyle Fox at the heart of a three or four man one touch passing sequence that finds Lameiras. To Threlkeld, then releasing Carey, who beats a man and crosses for...David Fox? Foxy at the far with a header, but blocked and cleared. #pafc
Plymouth Argyle FCVerified account@Only1Argyle 2m2 minutes ago More Half-time. Argyle 2-0 up, thanks to goals inside the first six minutes from Toums and Carey. And have played, very, very well since. Very easy on the eye. Might be the best 45 this season so far. Job not done yet, though. Oldham a decent side. We need to see this out. #pafc
Oldham switch from back 3 to back 4 at half time after a torrid 45 minutes. Two up front also, a different proposition for Argyle to deal with.
They effing scored....don't tell me playing the defensive game now....Sawyer again giving a corner away...
Bad news, we conceded a goal (from a corner again). Good news, we've scored three. Three goals, I say we've scored three goals, boy.
