Is there any need to say anything about this one? Think the players might just think this is only another game but I doubt a huge section of the Argyle faithful will agree with that considering some of the rhetoric last season. Anyway I still maintain we can beat anyone in this league on our day so am not going to change that thought now. They have started like a train but we all know trains can get derailed. You can do it Argyle. COYG
Schumacher says they haven’t changed their squad that much since last year so we aren’t facing a whole new team of expensive new recruits. Clearly they’ve got off to a brilliant start and we haven’t but I still maintain we’ve played some good stuff and haven’t always got the results the quality of our football deserved. We haven’t conceded in the last two and if we can continue to avoid silly defensive mistakes and not overstretch trying to score ourselves then we may have turned a corner. We don’t need to become an ugly team but we do need the right balance between attack and defence. I’m not expecting miracles but I do feel we can do better against teams that play good football than those that are big and ugly. Ipswich are a footballing side. I expect an entertaining end-to-end game and I genuinely think we can get something from it.
Hardie back in the starting 11. Miller and Kesler-Hayden as full backs, Randell CM between Cundle and Azaz. Houghton on the bench.
Six minutes gone. Whittaker picks up the ball wide, glides past two defenders and bends it into the top corner. Nil-One Argyle!
Argyle paying Ipswich no respect whatsoever. All three Argyle midfielders are pressing high, strangling Ipswich at source. High risk stuff though.....
40 odd minutes played, Bundu breaks free, brought down in the box. Ref gives nothing, TV replay shows a penalty.
And two minutes later, Ipswich equalise with a probable own goal. We are getting nothing from referees this season.
Reading some of the pasoti comments not only should we have had a penalty but for the second match running the opposition should be down to 10 men. And then they equalise which adds insult to injury. When will we ever get a Ref that's on our side? I'll answer that one and it's obviously never.
I'll settle for a ref with the balls to give a decision and has at least a vague understanding of the rules. Where do they get these morons?
Long drive back tonight for Argyle. We fell to the three sub rule....so was unable to bring a player on when we went down to ten....silly rule when it is a genuine injury. Sounds like some cruel luck and dubious refereeing. Two strikers injured could give us a few problems if they're out for to long,
Watched the video....didn't show any of the moments that where confrontational. Great Whittaker goal......what the hell was Mumba doing with the own goal.....literally took it out of Cooper's hands.
