I was trying to think of a reason why we need to exact some revenge on Hull for something, anything. The only thing I could come up with was that they beat us 1 - 0 at Home Park way back in 2007/8 season and went on to get promoted to the Premier League. It was the scrapiest of goals if memory serves by Dean Windass who basically fell over in the box about a yard out and the ball hit him on the back of the leg and got deflected in. Now us losing wasn't the reason for revenge it is that they relegated us to the title of the Largest City in the UK not to have ever played in the top flight. I'm not so sure that was really factual but it is what was bandied about at the time and since. So, can we do it? Yes we can despite exhausting 4 games of goals in one at the last attempt. COYG
They used to be the biggest city that hadn't played in the top division. Then they achieved that.....meaning that that honour then fell upon Plymouth......thank you for that ball and chain.
All a bit nail biting. Hull having most of the play and shots although we’ve hit the target more often.
Leaves us in 13th which will only change if Blackburn beat Leicester. That looks unlikely, but strange things happen in this league. We then have two home games in succession against teams in the bottom half. I'll be disappointed with less than 4 points from those two......
A good away point at Hull....who are in 5th position.....as notDistant has said we have two home games next.....I want to see 6pts from those two....to keep us above the half-way mark in this division.
Well I did say LESS THAN 4 points. But let’s be reasonable and not put unwarranted pressure on the players We came up a year earlier than was apparently expected and it’s a tough division with several club’s overspending like Sheffield Wednesday. Survival is the objective. Anything else is a bonus.
I think we all WANT to see 6 points in the next two games and I would dearly love to see 24 from the next eight then another 24 from the 8 after that. However we all also know that it is unrealistic to expect anything as such from any game. I will therefore switch the emphasis of the demand to would like to see. The one thing I want to see is Argyle playing decent football. On that one I think they are also doing ok.
Look, I think there’s a reasonable chance we can win both of these if we play at our best. We’re getting more streetwise and I think we’ll get better as time goes on. So yes. I hope for 6 points and believe we can and will. But pragmatically, I’ll take 4 now.
Just watched the video.....poor picture quality....loaded it a few times but couldn't improve quality. I thought Gillesphey a little unlucky with there goal...it looked as if the ball was going out of play....but it seemed to bounce awkward and stayed in play for the Hull player to cross it.
