There is going to be a few tired legs come the last 20 minutes on Tuesday following the effort yesterday. I'm still confident that we can win this one and I think the boys in green will want to put a result on the board following their loss. The Ref for this game looks a bit of a stickler with 87 yellows and 4 reds from 23 games. Pity we couldn't have Saturday's Ref again. Given the journey once more I think the players will want a few days off this week before next Saturday.

I wouldn't be surprised if those with the full 120 mins in their legs were rested.

Difficult to rest our first choice defenders with Galloway out for the rest of the season....it is possible that Schumacher might start some one of his January intake.....or course that might be because someone might have picked up a knock from Saturdays gruelling 120 minute game.

He has Bolton and Crichlow of course for Wilson and Gillesphy and Sessegnon and Law for Edwards and Grant. Grant played just the 90 minutes but Edwards looked leggy towards the end: hardly surprising mind you. Randell played just 45 minutes whereas Houghton did the full 120.

Cooper, Law, Gillesphey, Scarr, Wilson, Broom, Mayor, Randell, Camara, Hardie, Ennis.

    Subs
Burton, Bolton, Houghton, Edwards, Garrick, Grant, Jephcott.

Houghton, Edwards & Grant rested and on the bench.....Hardie starting and probably up for this game...partnered by Ennis.

I will now report on the match in 6 words: not counting time increments. Asterisks may appear for the hard of hearing.

    First half: ****ing useless
    Half time: rockets inserted
    Second half: Chelsea Revisited

My birthday today. Thank you Argyle.

And a happy birthday to you Notdistant. I know it's a Tuesday but shocking you are still sober enough to type at this time of day. Great present though.

Watched this at son's until the 60 something minute when the feed went down and the whole Argyle TV disappeared for the duration. At that point it was 1 - 3 so saw most of the goals. They showed Hardie's final goal on Sky sports news channel. This was a tale of goal keepers tonight. Cooper was bleddy awful for their goal and their keeper was even worse for pretty much all of ours. When we missed the penalty for the second game running I wasn't a bit surprised although I would have expected Hardie to take it if on the field. I was thinking come half time that this was going to be one of those games and we were going to be undone. However, Crewe shoed exactly why they are where they are and caved in. Hardie got his hattrick and I have to say I'm chuffed for him. I agree with you notdistant, the Manager I think put a rocket up a few arses at half time and rightly so. Three points, 50 for the season so far and as far as I can see we are pretty much not going to go down at least. (Thought I'd add that for Plym to dampen the spirits down a tad)

After a few Betty Stoggs & red wine with steaks, I've had to delay other celebrations until full time. I am now enjoying a warm feeling partly from an astonishing turn around and partly a large Glenlivit. Presents will have to wait compared to a Ryan Hardie hat trick.

Just watched the video.......a rare moment for Cooper letting the ball get away from him....but Jaaskelainen for Crewe had a mare of an evening...not helped by his defence over the season I expect...his lack of confidence gave Argyle an helping hand, although he did make some good saves....with some clubs above Plymouth helping Argyle gain ground by dropping points....plus having a game in-hand as well....and improving our goal difference as well...it turned out a good night and got us moving onward.

Someone on pasoti noticed that Steven Schumacher has been manager for eleven games and only two of them have been at home...a hard start to his managerial life.

P11...W5...D3...L3,,,20 goals scored....and 15 given away......this takes into account that the Chelsea game was a draw after 90 minutes and that would mean that we gave away only 14 goals in normal time.

Hat-tricks are a rarity for Argyle....but not surprising that Hardie got one last night in his efforts to banish his penalty miss on Saturday.....that is the first hat-trick we've scored since Reuben Reid in 2015.....during the 3-1 win at Exeter.
