Two 6 pointers in less than a week. Think we need to start winning these games now or it might be too late to make a dash. We have proved we are capable of getting results even if it is proving hard. Had we played like we are now earlier then we wouldn't be in the same mire. Come on greens you can do this even if the fixture list is relentless.

    0-1.....H/T

    This ain't going to script

To make it worse Hull are one up at Sunderland....and Derby are drawing.

Some magic needed second half to save our season.

    1-1.....F/T

    Tijani...67mins

    Salech...12mins

    Goutas...Red card 53mins

Even with 16 minutes of injury time Argyle couldn't beat 10 men.

Hull shock Sunderland and win 3 unexpected pts

Luckily Derby lose to a 90+5 minute goal.

If we can't win the relegation matches what chance have we of gaining the points to stay up.....ZILTCH.

It’s hard to know where to start with this. It certainly didn’t finish in time with 15 minutes of extra time played, occasioned mostly by Cardiff players falling down.

Muslic talks about “vertical football” which means in effect belting long balls down the pitch. He probably has a point in playing it: we don’t have the budget to take the top teams this league on for skill so it has to be that way. That said, it isn’t pretty to watch.

Cardiff started stronger and got into the lead early and then started to fall over.

The balls had to be changed at half time from sheer exhaustion.

Muslic likes Al Hajj and he is a beautiful player given the chance. The trouble is he doesn’t get the chance in games like this and he’s not strong enough to make it happen, Callum Wright didn’t reappear at half time. I presume due to injury and instead we got Bali Mumba in a right No 10 sort of role and all of a sudden we started to look more threatening.

Crucially, after on 8 minutes on the field, Mumba got free right in the middle of the “D” with only the keeper to beat. Goutas brought him down inches from the box and so got a straight red but the free kick came to nothing and so we were deprived what looked like a certain equaliser.

Eventually we got the equaliser but that’s really not enough at home against a relegation rival.

The defeats have been much reduced but there aren’t enough wins. I do think Mumba in an attacking role is a better option than Al Hajj.

14 shots at goal and only one on target .......and that's playing at home......and that is playing against a team that has only one away win in the league all season.
Midfield has no authority and that gives our strikers only crumbs to feed on.

This was a game with few clear chances for either side, whatever the stats appear to show.

We’ve started with back 5 that looks like something out of the Lord Of The Rings. Three centre backs plus two wing backs big enough to be centre backs. Full blown Troll at LB actually.

It’s unfortunate that we’ve lost Hardie after he’d scored 5 in 3 games (I think). Having suffered the kind of injury he has myself several times. we shouldn’t expect him back soon. Frankly, quite possibly not this season, given what he does for a living compared to sitting at a desk most of the time like me.

Muslic has stopped the rot. I have confidence he’ll move on from that. He’s got a clear week in training next week. He needs to find a way to replace Hardie. For me, it’s Mumba.

I agree with the "where to start" comment with this game. So, I will start with the obvious. Cardiff are the worst side I have seen at Home Park all season. The reason I say that is becuase they did nothing but stop the game at every opportunity. When I think of all the stick Wycombe used to get from Argyle supporter then they have nothing on this lot. I cannot remember a team that spent more time on their arse than on their feet. It is not game management when it is conducted like this it is cheating plain and simple. Then we move onto the Officials. The Referee is not fit to be called that because he most definately wasn't in charge of anything. He simply allowed them to do it over and over. He spoke to their Keeper at least a dozen times yet did nothing else. He stopped every corner and free kick around the box to have a chat to the players mostly furtherest from the kick being taken. He did this over and over again but did nothing else. The lino on the Lyndhurst gave the worst performance I have seen this season and there have been some piss poor performances previously, Example. He waved his flag for a foul against Mumba about 3 feet from his nose. The Cardiff player wasn't even tackled or touched. He merely jumped forward in the air and fell to the floor. He gave several throw ins the wrong way. Not even doubtful ones. They were dreadful.

As for what football was played it would be fair to say Argyle were not at the races in the first half. They started poorly and never improved. The goal against was a typical Argyle concession. However they did get better in the second half and started to at least create more. Callum Wright had produced nothing in the first half and not sure if injured or just plain not good enough he got replaced by Mumba. I like Wright but today the ball just didn't stick and his distribution was poor. Al Hajj was also poor for the whole time he was on. Very weak and he doesn't challenge at all. Everytime we started to get a head of steam up Cardiff hit the deck. As said the Ref just allowed it. They also put all the players behind the ball once down to 10 men, Argyle couldn't find a way past it more than once. It would however have been a travesty had we got nothing from the game.

As I've said before I am not as fast as I once was and tend to leave the ground in advance of my cohorts so they don't have to wait for me on the way to the watering hole. I left with 2 minutes on the clock just before they announced the extra time. I walk slowly and even have to stop on the way to catch my breath on the uphill part. I didn't know how long the Ref had given them. When I got to the Club House sosmebody said he was surprised to see somebody in an Argyle shirt at the bar when the game hadn't finished. I was a bit gobsmacked at that even if it was the right thing to do time wise. My son then told me on arrival that they only played a few minutes of the extra time because Cardiff spent most of it on the deck as per the rest of the game and once again the Ref just let them. He reconed there should have been another 10 minutes minimum played in the extra extra time slot.

Cardiff were a disgrace to themselves, to their “country” and to football generally. No doubt about it.
