So here we are with a very unusual Saturday match. Remember them? Cambridge have a worse recent record than we do and sit just above the relegation line. We have a Ref who hasn't done the deed with us previously. So, what could go wrong this time I hear you cry. Just about anything and everything if you listen to some. One loss at home and of course we are now not going to win another game this season and will probably end up fighting relegation by March. Even Ipswich people think we have had it and will "fall away". It must be true then. However, I'm not with that group and think we will bounce back and win this one. Not comfortably perhaps but win it nonetheless. We are followed later in the day by England v France. A day full of rejoicing it is then........ COYG
Yep I can see around 20 inches from both eyes simultaniously. The lino on the Lyndhurst side {that would be any lino we have ever had} has never, that is never seen an offside ever. I have to shout and point them out all the time.
Very scrappy start: Argyle perhaps tempted into long ball hoofing by Cosgrove’s presence. A bit better in the first half but still looks like 15 a side on an undersized pitch.
0-0...F/T Second game without scoring. Five Yellows....none for them. 17 fouls...only 7 for them. Only one shot on goal.....4 for them. Just not happening at the moment. Second in the league. Exeter draw with Sheff W.....Sheffield equalizing in the 94th minute.
There are games you lose which you believe you should have won. There are games you win you admit you shouldn’t have. I’m afraid a 0-0 draw was about it on this one and we do seem to have lost our way. What we didn’t deserve was a lopsided distribution of yellow cards. We played what football there was in flashes but their strikers disturbed a makeshift defence. We perhaps need to exert our technical superiority by just keeping the ball and not trying to score with every spell of possession. Not very good and I’m fearful for my first visit to Home Park in too long next Saturday.
Boring for the most part. Watched it on the tele. Ref was often very one sided. No way we deserved 5 yellows and them zero. Not a good watch and glad it wasn't at home with me having to sit for a couple of hours in the freezing cold.
