Another big game for both clubs which they will be desperate to win. I think if Accrington don't win this one then they will be fading into play off mode so it is vital for them. If we don't win it then we will be looking frantically over our shoulder at the chasing pack.

When they played down here they had some cracking players. Windass was the stand out but he has done a deal with Rangers for next season and doesn't seem to have played since. Hope they don't bring him back for this one as he was a bit class for this league. Cocky git but had the talent to go with it.

Will be sat on the edge of my settee for this one with a glass in one hand and prayer mat in the other.

I might need a bigger bottle rather than beads plym. If I drink enough then I forget about the football.

Bollox. Bollox. Bollox. Bollox and another Bollox.

Mellor F***s it up. The other scores were all going so well along with our own and Bollox happens.

It's got nothing to do with us scoring enough goals plym. We were away from home and leading 1 - 0 with 5 minutes to go. Nothing wrong with that at all. Mellor in defence is a bleddy nightmare. But we would have accepted a draw and point out of that before we started so not the end of the World. Somehow we allow them a second. Don't know what happened to create it but I'm blamming Mellor for putting us down to 10 men. I hope Adams hammers him.

Yes, very disappointing.. i thought we had the 3 points and then He got sent off <doh>, still a point would have been ok.. But end up with NIL..

Rovers also won and our on our tails with an easier run in.. All the other results were in our favour at 85 minutes,, Its going to be tight now for the top 3 at least pompey lost as well.. Any one from the top 6 under the leaders can get the auto spots.. Bad day.. also a bad one at the bookies... i had the score correct until that clown went off.. :emoticon-0183-swear

To be fair BC I think they deserve promotion as much as any of the others. What it isn't is a given. Nobody has a right to promotion whoever they are but as the old saying goes, the seasons league table doesn't lie. Whoever finishes one two or three deserves it. You don't get to be lucky for 46 games. One or two maybe but all teams have that generally except at the other end of the table who never seem to get any luck at all.

Finally I have managed to log in via the laptop.
If ever a team can be said to have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory then today it was certainly Plymouth Argyle. Visiting the curiously named tiny 'Wham' stadium was like stepping back 60 years but the food was good and the locals friendly-just as well as the drizzle was rolling in off the pennines and I had left my coat at home, but managed to blag a seat on the halfway line instead of standing in the open terrace. Never been so close to the action and could literally have touched the players on the touchline.
First half started at 100 miles an hour with both teams trying to play some decent football on a reasonable pitch but with limited threat at both ends. Luke pulled off a smart stop early on but other than a tame effort on half time he was rarely called into action. For Argyle Wylde had come closest, but put it over the bar so it was somthing of a surprise when we took the lead-the ball was cleared but only as far as carey who provided an excellent cross for jervis to score with a looping header. That was pretty much the sum total of Jervis' contribution all afternoon, because he didnt tackle, track back or support the other forwards-he may as well have not been on the pitch. The other notable 1st half incident was Wylde (who was chasing everything down) having a very public spat with Reuben who spent most of the time standing still , offside or falling over. The new boy Houghton slotted in okay and is a very similar player to Threckland-certainly a plus bringing him in.
2nd half much of the same but with the game opening up a little but still short of real quality. DA was clearly settling for a 1-0 and replaced Wylde (our only attcking threat) with Simpson. As always we sat deeper and deeper and Accy started to exert some pressure with a few shots on target though nothing that bothered Luke. Their star player went off injured and Boco (who played better for them than he every did for us ) was subbed. Just when it looked like the plan was going to work, it all went horribly wrong. The ref had already got bored and started to book people so it was no great surprise when he gave the pen. I would have to see it again but from my angle it looked like Mellor just pushed him over from behind in the box-it was easy to see why it was given, though the red was maybe a bit harsh. Luke guessed correct but could only get a finger tip to it so it looked like we would all have to settle for a point. By now Tanner and 'matt' had replaced Reid and jervis and the new striker showed some promise- he appears to be very much a like for like replacement for brunt. 5min after the first, a neat cross and finish saw all 3 points stay oop north, much to the delight of the locals and the stunned green army went home dejected, angry and nervous about the rest of the season.
Hate to say it, but much of the blame has to lie with the manager-Wylde was our only outlet so no idea why he took him off and from Wylde's reaction neither had he. Hartley was by far my MOTM and showed no signs of injury, with the rest of the back 4 also pretty decent - Carey getting better but still not there, Reid and Jervis dont deserve to be paid.
Probably didn't deserve the win but accy didnt deserve to lose, so a draw would have been fine- nil points is grim especially when everyone else was trying to do us a favour.
Still 3rd and another game ticks by-squeeky bum time!

Thanks for the report Lyndhurst. I couldn't bring myself to read any of the write ups anywhere until now. All I'm going to say having done so is "BOLLOX"
just a bit louder this time. I feel totally let down this evening as do many no doubt and especially those who travelled.

I thought I'd cheer myself up by continuing to watch England thrashing Wales at Twickenham......and then a re-run of Argyle started to unfold in front of me......down to fourteen and Wales scoring points for fun.......I was literally behind the settee looking through a gap in my fingers at the end as we held on for the win.

Sensible...... goals win matches and Argyle haven't been scoring anywhere near enough.......we are putting far too much pressure on the defence......and it isn't the first time Mellor has cracked under pressure.......Reid hasn't scored a goal since I was in short trousers (or so it seems) and he isn't laying on goals for others either.......drop him now.......and although Jervis scored it sounds as if he was a passenger for the rest of the match by Lindy's estimation.

We are certainly missing McHugh's influence at the moment and we desperately need him playing as soon as possible.

Adams seems to have lost some of his magic and isn't conjuring up result like before the major injuries hit us hard.........he might save us yet with his two latest signings......Jordan Houghton seemed to fit in quite well at short notice and Jamille Matt who didn't arrive until the evening before the match might be adequate to replace Brunt, came on late on.

They need to regroup very quickly and get a good result against Luton next weekend.

I have to agree that it is a lack of goals that is the problem. We seem to produce some decent bild up play but rarely look like scoring-either no one gets a decent shot on target or there is no one in the box. We still have the best 'goals against' in the division but have scored fewer than anyone (except dirty Wycombe) in the top 10. Yes Jervis scored yesterday but it was more luck than judgement; Reid is more of a hinderance than a help at the moment; Carey not yet back to form so its difficult to see where the goals are going to come from. Perhaps do something radical like start with Nardiello and Matt- they cant be any worse. The defense were actually pretty good yesterday. Luke pulled off one good save in the first half and dealt with a few on target shots in the second quite routinely. Need to see it again but i thought their second was a pretty good goal-i.e. no ones fault. The lateness of the goals yesterday makes things seem worse than the result actually was. Saturday is now crucial and three points will make everyone a lot happier.

Been reading match comments by fans on pasoti etc.............Reid came in for a lot of stick.....lots of comments about players telling him to get involved to track back and help etc.....even a comment that he looked at least a stone overweight......plus his incessant moaning......Wylde seemed to be strongly on his case......where has the team spirit gone ?

You get the feeling that Adams magic touch of early season as evaporated and teams know what to expect from us........and we don't seem able to vary our game accordingly.
