My first choice would be Sagna as the most deserving left in the team, but he might be a transfer target in the coming seasons. So I'd go with Arteta even though he is with us for only 1 year. He's likely to end his career here. I wouldn't give it to Vermaelen if only for the fact that I wish we transfer better CB's in the future to replace him. He is passionate for the club though, I just don't rate him as a defender as much as the rest of the fans.
on another note was walking down the street and wearing an arsenal shirt. Didn't know about the news then and three spurs fans (who also didn't know about rvp situation..i think!) were boasting about how spurs will thrash arsenal this season. On the way back two guys in a car screamed arsenal are s**** and drove away..boy are we hated hah?!
strategically i think diaby should be captain. It means we could have 'second choice' captain on field and greater depth...ish!
This could work. Not sure the treatment table is the best position to have your club captain though. Gotta be the verminator. He's the best CB we've had in years and clearly a leader (seems to be a Belgian thing). Maybe we can get him on some heavy nights out with Bould and he'll be the next Tony Adams?
Just give it to Wilshere. I know he's young but at least he's passionate, one of our best players and will be with us for at least 3-4 years. Not that the rest inspire me with much confidence....
He's probably the next one to go. His contract talks aren't going well (apparently), so why give him the captaincy? Moreso, who in their right mind would make Theo Walcott captain of something?
Sagna is a great guy and top pro, but a bit too shy for a captain. Arteta to me is the best option. He knows when and how to talk to referees. And he never losses his temper.
