Absolutely - Sam hasn't seen him though as Advocaat didn't like him. I thought he was very hitty missy - much like a lot of our players - but he had some good games - you don;t get your own song from the crowd if you are constantly ****e! I'd say he'd be worth a try in the new year if we can get him back (and if he wants to come back of course!)
Great instinctive finish. Comical own goals aside, he's neither good enough nor the right kind of defender for the English leagues. His best feature was his ability to go on mazy Maradona-esque dribbles, which while entertaining, had no practical value.
He could be an all time great in the right set up, more Barcelona style than Sunderland. Maybe like Marangoni we may see him at the highest level one day. I hope so.
He is very impressive technically. Loan him to the right clubs for a while, keeping him on the books, he could fetch a pretty penny eventually.
I did but I don't know why having watched it again. I suppose I associate him with bizarre own goals more than scoring in the right net.
Hah, I always thought Santi looked so lethargic, almost bored. This clip he shows it off again. Looks like he barely cares about the goal! Can just see him afterwards like "Huh? What happened? Oh..." then trudging off back to his own half...
