What's the odds of this happening before the end of January? It's a big 'IF' but if he goes, will it be a tipping point leading to an exodus by the ugly elf & moderate come the summer? A long shot, but a thought that keeps me warm on these cold winter days
They're struggling to scrape the money together for a new striker at the moment so I can't see it happening. Also VDV said the otherday that no one would want to leave Tottenham now.
That's probably true, but players forget they're owned by their clubs and if Tottenham were to receive Chelsea/Man City type offers in January the club may feel that cashing in makes sense. You're like us, there's no sugar daddy pumping hundreds of millions in with complete disregard for financial value, as it stands Chelsea are in **** and struggling to qualify for the champions league, they were in the same boat last year and then valued Torres at £50m. I've said before, you need to find £400m or whatever it is for the ground development, there'll come a time when you can't keep refusing offers for your stars...
I think the Spuds will soon start to experience the problems that come with having world class players in your side, everyone else now wants them, or they themselves want to leave. It's a natural progression.
Your concentrating on the wrong Dutch man i think you should be more concerned about Robin Van Persie leaving..much more likely now that thought warms my cockerels.
Nobody will leave the spuds while they still have a chance of winning the title. If they **** it up and finish outside the top four you can expect a mass exodus.
Fair point but seriously, what would Levy do if £50m offer came in for Modric tomorrow ? I don't want to see RVP go but if one of the worlds chequebook bullies put up £75m for him I'd have to say it's probably worth selling him and using the cash to buy a world class replacement and back up.
Anyone of you boys heard anything about this ridiculous rumour of Richardson joining you on loan ! I don't believe it for one second, but it seems to be gathering pace.
I'd agree with that. Modric would renew his efforts to leave and we wouldn't be able to raise our wage cap to offer him a new contract to even try to keep him. I'm sure clubs would be flocking around Bale, Walker, VDV, Sandro, etc too so it'd be a case of getting the highest price we can and starting again.
