Reports that Vaughan might be on way to Celtic on loan? Surely not! He is fit (for now) and scoring and we will be left with Holt, Morison, Jackson (all three im happy with) and C.Martin (who isnt good enough!). If he does go, I pray Hughton has a replacement (at least as good) lined up but who?!
Looks as though a replacement has been lined up if we are going down to 3 strikers..assuming C.Martin goes (really hope he isn't planning on giving him another chance). Loan in or a new signing? Would take Guidetti on loan ;-)
How come no-one ever saw Morison at Morrisons before he joined Let's think about this for a sec Vaughan is doing well in PRE-season, he showed sparks when available last season but got Injured. Not his fault, **** happens. To my knowledge, he's never played a full season of football, let alone premier league football. There's a big difference between fit and match fit. If the management have assessed this as a concern surely a loan might fix this? If he's on Loan at Celtic and is firing them in looking good maybe a 6 monther would aid us. I don't mind of he goes of stays, either way we win as I believe chrissy would bring in a replacement.
He's a bit of an enigma - bags of talent (his goal on Saturday was proof of that - one touch - bang - goal !) but comes with an almighty health warning. Personally I'd love to see him keep fit and push for a first team slot as I think he could be a real handful but if he gets crocked again ... well .... A loan would seem an obvious move to test his fitness levels but we have to have a replacement lined up as we need striking cover (Chris Martin is not the answer). As I've said on another thread, Vaughan to Celtic with Hooper coming the other way would get a from me ...
If this happens, I don't want any loan signing coming in, Roeder has put me off loans for good. Slightly off topic, but I'm fed up with clubs exploiting the loan system. When it was first introduced, it was for emergencies only now big clubs just take the piss by signing up all the best players then lending them out. There is no way players should be loaned out to teams in the same division either IMO
I would have preferred jackson to go on loan as he cannot finish as clinically as Vaughan. My gut feeling on this one is Rhodes to come in but we need someone for sure as Vaughan is a potentially big loss and would leave us very light. C.Martin has to be sold I am afraid - he is not up to it.
for goodness sake - i'm getting sick of hearing about jordan bloody rhodes! he isn't coming - he is too risky and more importantly the club cannot afford him!! everyone close to the club knows he isn't even an option so lets not talk about him coming because it isn't going to happen EDIT. should just add, no offence intended to thurnby, just fed up with the constant clamour for someone many of us understand is not an option to buy
as for vaughan, i personally would keep him here but i can totally understand why we would consider loaning him out if someone else is going to pay his total wages for a season. i don't agree with it but as i say, i understand the logic if hughton doesn't fancy him. will leave us short up top though so he'll have to bring someone else in. just so long as its not marlon king...
If he is leaving, you can be sure we won't see him tonight, so that will be interesting. Also, I'm assuming tonight might see Hughton pick somewhere near his strongest team, but more importantly, maybe his strongest formation. Or am I way off?
I can understand loaning him out to a club where he can expect to play on a regular basis. Would he be a starter for Celtic? Wouldn't have thought so.
