He took is beautifully. He got over the ball, and didnt even look up. Just kept his head down, and struck it. Awesome. Why the hell did Bruce not play him!? He has done well in the middle of the park..

Bringing on McLean was the most tactically sensible substitution there was. A left winger with a left foot to get those balls in from the left to create more chances of goal. Bruce would probably have taken off Sess and Larsson, and brought on Elmo and a defender. Looks like both Vaughn and McLean have staked their claim for a first team place now...

What makes it more bewildering is that these guys were brought in on his watch and therefore, we assume, at his request?

Bruce bottled it weeks ago. Perhaps even after the Toon debacle.

We have a good squad. We have some very good players, and some players who work for the team. Playing Colback and Catts in midfield week in week out isn't good enough. It didn't work for Bruce, yet he couldn't see it. Vaughn was voted Blackpool PLayer of the Season... ahead of 8million pound Adams... He played some good football in the park, and was rewarded with a goal. AND he could have gotten a second had Sess passed back to him instead of going for goal - Vaughn got in te exact same position a few minutes after his goal, and could have done it again. But Sess had a shot that went wide.

With McLean, Bruce prob thought that we had no problems down the left. It was always defense he had problems with (his mentality, not mine). Mclean is young, not the finished article by any means. But he is hungry, left-footed, and eager to do well. Him and Bardo were doing very well down the left, with Richo coming in aswell.

Bruce lost the plot ages ages ago. To see we had a player like McLean there, and players like Vaughn and Gardener and to NOT use them when Catts/Colback wasn't working...? It was madness that cost him his job.

When we've got Larsson playing on the left and Elmo on the right, I think that he should've played him, if he's good enough, he's good enough. That hasn't changed since MON came

Football is organic. Always developing, growing, changing.

Bruce tried to stifle growth, ok?

Play safe, Take no risks. Draw - or, at worst, - lose 1-0.

    Players that can change games?

    Ridiculous!

Because the way we were playing was working wonderfully for us under Bruce?? He isn't to young. He is young, with alot of learning to do. BUT so were Rooney and Owen at one stage. And now look at them (or back to Liverpool's in Owen's case). Elmo is fast, wins headers, and... well, thats all. Larsson is better on the right. Having a left footer on the left putting in good balls to the box was what helped us win. It stretched the defense and allowed Vaughn to sit there on his own outside the box, and get a clean shot at goal. This was helped by Mclean on the left, and Larsson on the right.

I am a lot happier with how our squad looks now, we have 2 x options on the left now with McClean and Richardson. The midfield looks like it will be highly contested too, its Vaughan's place to lose now, he was outstanding today.

I agree Vaughan had a good game today.

In my opinion it should be Gardner or Meyler in their with him. Thought Colback was fairly anonymous once again.
