Skysports.com understands West Brom are set to win the race to sign Blackpool midfielder David Vaughan. Vaughan confirmed earlier on Monday that he was leaving Bloomfield Road after turning down a new deal at Blackpool. The Welsh international impressed for Blackpool in the Premier League last season and his performances have not gone unnoticed. Sunderland and Scottish champions Rangers have both expressed an interest in signing the 28-year-old on a free transfer. However, West Brom are thought to be at the front of the queue to sign the former Crewe man. Baggies boss Roy Hodgson is believed to be a big admirer of Vaughan and is keen to bring him to the Hawthorns. If West Brom win the race for Vaughan he will become the club's third free transfer of the summer following the arrivals of Gareth McAuley and Billy Jones.
