Very surprised but pleased that Vaughan is going up to Blackburn and may therefore play. Really hope that he can get a few games under his belt and maybe score. He looked very upset and distraught when he got that injury against Sunderland and I just think he needs a bit of luck with his injuries.
on what little evidence i've seen, i'm a fan of vaughan, but you do get the feeling his career is very much in the 'last chance saloon' now
Great news for him and hopefully he can give us a lift for the end of season push up the table, wonder how much playing time he will get if any this weekend? Really hope he does play!
With his luck he'll probably trip down the steps getting out of the coach and break an ankle. Fair to say that if he was a racehorse the vets would be getting the lethal injection ready before he started running the National.
Yeah I agree superman. He has the potential to be a city legend! but i fear he is always crocked. He has looked good in the 20mins or whatever he has played in total.
you can just see, he has that spark that top players have in their game. i'd really love for him to make a fresh start next season and hit the ground running, thats why i'm a little surprised to see him featuring on saturday. i think a good holiday and an early, tough pre-season might do the lad the world of good but lambert knows best!
To be fair to the lad he's still only about 22 or something isn't he so he could still have a very full and successful career ahead of him if (and yes it is a big IF) he can get himself fully fit. I remember Steven Gerrard being dogged with injuries when he first burst onto the scene and looking as though he was set to spend half his career on the treatment table, but he turned out ok in the end. Would love to see Vaughny in full flow in the yellow and green, he'd be an awesome new signing if he's fit for next season meaning we can spend our money elsewhere.
He is the striking option we have missed this season at times. Not that the others have not been sensational but he is a different option. I really hope he can get a bit of game time and most importantly stay injury free
the difference with gerrard is he was constantly injured through growing pains and knock ons from that - vaughan has suffered numerous career threatening injuries
Yeah fair comment, and just having read a bit about Vaughny sounds like he's been dogged with pretty bad injuries for 5/6 seasons now. Just hope he can sort himself out as he definitely deserves to be succesful after all the bad luck he's had so far
Got to remember it took Whitbread a year to get fit and play regularly with us. I remember someone saying that you always pick up niggles when you've just come back from a big injury. I think to be fair to him, he seems to work hard to get back from his injuries and was pretty much injury free with Palace last year. Like you said he is young and still has years left in his career, let's just hope he does manage to stay fit!
He's 21, (I think) but he has had more injuries than most players have in their entire careers. I really hope for both him and the club, he stays fit this time!
Obviously you can't get a good opinion without a few games first but it's the best we have and do we have to make a judgement on that.
you can get a feel for a player in a matter of minutes. maybe sam went overboard on the legend front but i knew what he meant - he's got that 'x-factor' when he plays, no question. its getting him to play thats proving the issue, not his ability when featuring
Dyers record is far worse and QPR are still paying £20k a week. Think he played for 2 minutes for his debut got injured and hasn't been back since!
How come then when we get a new player people say he will need time to bed in and show what he can do??? Do agree however that "getting him to play" is the major problem. I agree with Kickitoff, I think we may have a pup on our hands, and that's unfortunate for us and him. ILD OTBC
i see where you're coming from ILD but i think 'giving a player time to bed in' and 'seeing glimpses of talent in a matter of minutes' are different things.
