Even better, send in only troops from Catholic countries, then we'll see what's what.

The Catholic countries are usually rubbish at fighting though. The Dagoes, Portuguese, Eye-ties, Argies - all crap at war.

The Spanish weren't too bad, once upon a time.

You're right about the Italians though. Anyone who gets annihilated by Ethiopia in a war deserves to be annexed by a proper nation.

Given the unreliability of Italian motor vehicles sending their army into the vatican city would probably be the only conflict they could be relied upon to actually reach .

They made good conquistadors. Not much cop when they went up against one of the big guns (Drake, Napoleon etc).

There should be no law other than criminal law. Any clergy within that church who knew about any instances of child abuse should be charged with perverting the course of justice. Reckon there wouldn't many left.

I don't think you believe this.

There is a place for canon law. I think it has failed badly though and shouldn't supersede criminal investigations or investigations by other regulators. Religious institutions are protected from the outcomes of a number of other regulators and I think that is not right either.

There is obviously no place for canon law when those who preach the laws break them with impunity.

Canon law ....do as I say not as I do .

I don't really care who brings these evil bastards to justice as long as they're all rooted out and made to pay the penalty. They owe it to thevictims and families and, to a far lesser extent of course, to the decent nuns and priests who find themselves under suspicion through no fault of their own but rather to the arrogance of those who thought it better to cover it up.
