I am not an expert on Twitter but looking at this account which seems genuine it looks like Varney is a done deal - http://twitter.com/LukeVarney2 EDIT * Looking at the posts further down I have to feel this is a fake account - I did say I am not a twitter expert
I agree, with ThaiCanary, he was a good player, i'd have welcomed him back if he was younger, maybe ok for back up, but he'd probably be suited at the Millwall nursing home with Maik Taylor, and people of his own age
Hi OLAF Nah, send him to Ipswich, it's where the real crap players end up Even they will end up below Leeds next season (I promise). Seriously, I am not sure what to make of the current Leeds team, still early to say if better days are ahead or not.
Hi Thai Its a wonder ipswich haven't already been in for Gray, they seem to like the ones linked with us, I'm reserving judgement on our team for the coming season, still think there will be a few new faces around the place, lets see what Colin can do, we'll have a better idea of whats to come after 6 or 7 games in.
Trying to remain positive about it all - Green better than Mikka, Pearce better than O'Dea, Drury better than Parker Kenny and replaces a keeper who let in the second most goals in the division including 7 in one game against Forest. I know it isn't fair to blame it all on the keeper but... The next 2-3 in will be the important ones now. We have lost Clayton so we need someone like Austin (see another thread) and could also do with Peltier at RB. If those are the next two I will be quite happy, if it is Gray and Varney not so...
From my understanding Gray is just training with leeds because he asked Colin if he could. Colin then said that if he did really well and sees something in him then he might give him a contract but it is really only to keep him fit, this happens all the time. I doubt we'll sign him
Things is what happened with Ian Harte and we chose not to take him.He is now back in the Premiership. What a mistake! Just goes to show, managers and coaches make mistakes about players and their abilities just as much as we do
