Am I right or wrong in thinking that Ramsey hasn't given Vargas any game time at all, even as a sub? Good player, good work rate. I can't understand why he isn't making more use of him. Has he been injured? I would give up on the cave man football playing both Zamora and Austin. We need more creativity and I would like to see Vargas or Zarate playing as a number 10.
Agree, but CR obviously sees things on the training pitch, in terms of commitment and effort, that we are not seeing. So frustrating, the main fault of the team, is where we have a number of options, and those players are not stepping up to the mark, and do what the club are paying them to do.
I think Vargas will be used tomorrow at some stage. I think he could do really well playing alongside Charlie in a more advanced forward role rather than a right sided midfield role that he has played so far.
CR clearly doesn't rate him. Which is a shame because even though his form did tail off a little, he's still a wonderfully gifted footballer.
Clearly? We have no idea what happens at training or what conversations go on behind closed doors. It could be that CR asked the question of next season, is Vargas willing to show that he wants to be here long term? Matty Philips (here for the long term) has taken Vargas' position; not such a bad assist ratio comparison between them for the WHOLE SEASON. I like Vargas, have always thought that he should play up front and hope that he signs in the summer, but not if he is not doing everything he should be doing 24/7. Even though, I would really like to see Charlie and Vargas up front, starting on the morrow!
Can't see him or Isla signing in the summer. Neither fit the 'lower league' template, both would cost a few million, and neither have been played in their best positions, which may put them off. Vargas in particular has been wasted to date.
I'd love that to be the case. I suppose tomorrow is the best chance, hardly likely that OBZ will be recovered in time. I'd play him in the hole, running past Charlie.
Absolutely! Tomorrow would be just right, he will (should) be buzzing with something to prove. I can't see OBZ starting, so the only other attacking option is to play Zarate instead. Either would be okay.
We can't know if he rates him or not. It is a squad game. He may have felt he wasn't right for some games or wanted to save him for games with more chance of a win. Too early to tell.
agree , hes always been played out of position , but , but does he have the strength and presence for the prem ? great touch and skill , just clinical enough ?? dnt think hes had a proper chance ...
This is a forum. We will obviously let CR do his job, but on a QPR forum, we will discuss his options etc.
It looks to me like Ramsey doesn't want to utilize to many loanees at once. It's the only reasoning I can see for not playing Vargas and Zarate more. Isla been injured and are the one most likely to play of the three. I find it a bit strange for a manager who's hired short term to build long term. Tells you a lot about the fella. Seems to put the club first, something that's been missing for a looooong time. Really hope he can get a result tomorrow and start a surge to safety. I like CR and feel we're slowly becoming ourself again.
I know everyone is saying that CR is the DB's & whilst I applaud bringing some youngsters through I do believe we need to pick the strongest team & most likely to pick up the points so why Vargas & Zarate have not been given more time is little baffling. It almost looks as if they preparing for championship footie & sticking with those who'll still be around to give them experience etc going it in next year.
Vargas has only been good in glimses for us. Generally he has been about as ineffective as Hoillet. Read that he was exhausted due being a young father. Way he has played it looks very believable.
