Doubtful Vardy will ever be good enough for England. Now if he has a Scottish grandmother......

Think he is more likely to get the cardboard clackers in at Wembley than call Vards up. Dont believe anything that tory rag has to say.

Much as I like Reg, I don't think he is good enough for England.
Liked the Sunday Times comment about him last week - "If there was a European Player Of The Year Award for chasing down lost causes, Vardy would win it by a mile"

I could see him being a fringe player for England. I'd rather have him than Lambert in my side. He needs to find a level of consistency though. When he's good, he's good...

Not really good enough, but if you didnt want a 'target man' type then apart from an injured sturridge there arent really many other options out there (berahino)

I can see his hustle working well at international level, but his shots to goal ratio probably isnt good enough.

Think Hodgson was there mainly looking at Southampton players.

To be fair these media reports jump on the bandwagon as quickly as some fans do. When we had our good start to the season Fans were ridiculously touting Vardy for England and then during our LONG poor run whe. He was I and out of the side, come were debating whether we should get rid if WBA put in a bid. Now a few good games he is back in line for an England call. Madness,
Don't get me wrong I love Vardy to bits I really do but he is never an England international ( At this moment in time)

Vardy has been fantastic for us and probably one of our top three performers for the season. But I'm not sure if he was playing in a better side he would be as effective as he is for us. His strength is his pace and counter attacking and hassling defenders but in a side that builds patiently with more possession I'm not sure he has the top goal scorers instinct. So thinking about it maybe he is ideal for England.

He's clearly growing into this league, I think an England call-up is too soon, and Hodgson clearly wasn't at the game to watch any of our players (even if they were infinitely more impressive than Southampton's) but carry on this form at the start of the next season and he's got a real chance.

I think Vardy's style of play would add something to England but I don't think he would score enough goals to make him worth his place over someone like Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck or Kane

Vardy has proven he can cut it in the Premier League but for me if he is going to earn a call it then it shouldn't be this season. If he continues his form next season then he will deserve a chance

I agree, next season will be the one he has to perform at these levels AND score more

Roy's biggest takes from that game would be that it's time to start praying that England are not in the same group as Algeria or Ghana at the next World Cup <whistle>

They used to say the same about Heskey. Didn't stop him from being picked time and time again...
