Claude Puel confirmed last night both Harry Maguire and Jamie Vardy wont play against Man U Kelechi Iheanacho has looked sharp so far in pre season and will cover Vardy. I dont think Vardy missing the game is the end of the world but with Jonny Evans doubtful. If we dont sign anyone I worry about Morgan and Benalouane starting. Benny is an pure and utter liability
Mourhino has been moaning about their squad all pre season, Puel thinks the Maguire interest was intended to deliberately unsettle him. I'm hoping this might be a bit of gamesmanship from Puel. Desperately hoping because starting with Morgan and Benny has me very concerned.
Is it because they haven’t trained? I wonder if one of the youngsters will replace Benny. Or if he will try Fuchs CB in our next friendly (Puel never did this did he?). Agreed that Ihenacho looked excellent.
He said they'll only be back 4 days & that won't be long enough to train and prepare. It's not like they're new, sometimes teams sign players who then play a couple of days later. Presumably the lack of playing time is the issue. Big game to be starting one of the young lads but then often the young players don't suffer from lack of confidence or feel the pressure of an occasion. If Wes and Benny start on Saturday it's a fair bet they'll start Friday.
Was also going to say this. Maybe Old Trafford first up may be a bit of a huge jump but if Evans is injured then Johnson with Morgan may be a good shout. At least it will give us pace in the middle to help Morgan. We all know Benny may be a trier but he just looks a liability

Walker and Stones have started for Man City in the Community Shield, so why the hell can't Vardy and Maguire be involved at Man Utd on Friday?! A full week of training is in front of them, so just get on with it!! A 75% fit Maguire, would surely be a better option than Benalouane!
We do need Maguire to play especially if Evans isn’t fit but I’m comfortable for Nacho to start over Vardy given his end of last season form and this pre-season. Could be reverse mind games from Puel given what José is doing with the media and Maguire
If he pushed for it then we would have a new centre half. He doesnt have control but he isnt powerless either
