It's been a while, but I resurrected it! <laugh>

VAR strikes again...<doh>
Clearest of fouls, not given by ref but 'cleared' by VAR...
WH defender literally holding Wilson down to stop him heading in from 2 yards.

VAR just took over 3 minutes to decide on the closest of close offside calls in the Forest game. Totally ridiculous!
Fortunately for Forest they actually just equalised a couple of minutes later, but this just makes the application of the technology a joke.

Justice served...
Forest now 4th - above City!! <laugh>

This VAR **** is crazy though. If a decision is not clear in 30 seconds of review then it the on-field decision should stand.

Although my understanding of the offside law is now thrown into confusion again as I thought Wood should have been called offside for when the pass to the winger was made. Wasn't that the law we were all debating last weekend? :steam:

I gave up trying to understand the offside rule years ago!! <laugh>

Thread resurrection.....
(Not that things have improved the past 9 months....)
Watching the Villa Fulham game and two penalty claims for Fulham rejected by ref and VAR.
Don't think the first was a penalty, but equally did not warrant a yellow for simulation. It is clear that there has been a memo from the PL on this subject...
The 2nd is a different matter. **** Cash's arm was not in a natural - or as VAR explained 'justifiable' - position. Definite penalty.

Edit: Changed my opinion on the first incident... The keeper took Kings legs away. Stonewall penalty....<doh>

Good to see that VAR is no more consistent / honest North of the Border...
Ridiculous decision last night, that just happened to keep the SPL alive into the last weekend... <whistle>

Seriously...how can professional officials give this as a penalty when not only is it clearly a header, but the arm only remains elevated due to the Celtic player jumping alongside the Hearts defender.

I wonder what odds you would have got before the season for us to go a whole season without a penalty?

Not that high, considering the same happened in 1997-8 and 2012-13

The latter was particularly irritating, as it coincided with open season on Gareth Bale after Brenton called him a diver, somehow forgetting he had Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez in his team

Stolen from elsewhere but worth posting here...

Just watched Mitch Frettons YouTube vid regarding decisions that have gone against Spurs this season, I’ll sum up below - these have been validated by a panel of ex referees as incorrect decisions btw:

- James Maddison, clean pen vs Leeds (H), not given, 5 second VAR check

- Rodri high boot on Conor Gallagher vs Man City (H) clear red card not actioned

- Bryan Brobbi clear red card foul on Romero ending his season vs Sunderland (a) not given

- Clear pen vs Brentford not given as did not meet the threshold for a VAR check

- Enzo Fernandes high boot foul on Paulinha Chelsea (h) clear red not given

- Penalty awarded for Newcastle (a) when Dan Burn had Bentancur in a headlock, should not have been awarded

- pen awarded and incorrectly overturned vs Bournemouth

- Sunderland (h) Brobbi x2 clear yellow card offences not given, should have been sent off

- Xavi Simon’s red carded for foul against VVD but identical fouls made by Hwang and Foden in their games not given

- Ollie Scarrs blatant handball vs West Ham (h), clear pen not given (lost 1-2)

- Clear pen for foul on Solanke vs Man U not given
- Richarlison wrestled to ground by VVD when through on goal vs Liverpool away, not given

- Sunderland away - Udogie clean through and pulled back, not given

- Leeds (h) Ampadou elbow to Maddison head immediately followed by late challenge on Paulinha, decision = yellow card for De Zerbi

- Romero given extra 1 game ban for failing to leave pitch after being red carded. Time elapsed was 17 seconds

Pushing in box:
Romero goal vs WHU away not given to Spurs for push in box
Muani goal vs Arsenal (h) ruled out for for Spurs for push on Gabriel
Himinez identical push on Dragusin vs Fulham not punished, goal given to Fulham
Ekitike identical push on Romero to Muani on Gabriel for Liverpool - goal given to Liverpool

And some people think Spurs are refereed the same as every other club.

It looks awful but without knowing what happened to other clubs in the league it's difficult to say if this is Spurs targeted or just inconsistent refereeing throughout the PL.

We haven`t had any decisions since that offisde goal farce v Liverpool (the 6 month long outpouring of grief and hard luck stories portrayed Spurs as the villian, the referees have been making up for it by giving us nothing ever since). There is a reason we performed better in Europe.

One thing no pundit wants to admit: the reason why VAR works better in both the World Cup and Euros is because the onfield officials are from one federation, but the VAR is from another

There's zero chance of one covering the backside of the other if there's Dutch officials and Portuguese VAR
