I keep reading articles and comments on here speculating about who will replace Robin Van Persie next Season. You guys are more than likely missing the point.. ARSENAL INTEND TO MAKE HIM SEE OUT HIS CONTRACT. From listening to Wenger and Hillwood they have made it clear this is the case. âAs far as I am aware nobody has made any offer for him â said Hill-Wood. âWeâre not in the remotest bit interested in selling him.â The only way I can see Arsenal selling RVP is if they receive an outrageous offer for the Dutchman. Otherwise I think we will keep him until next Summer. Also if by Christmas we are challenging for the league Arsenals bargaining standpoint will be stronger - I'm guessing they intend to try and convince him to stay while things are going well.
I think you are missing the point. Van Persie is going to be a massively disruptive figure in the dressing room if he is allowed to stay at Arsenal. Having a character who everyone knows doesn't want to be there but still gets automatic first pick is going to reek havoc with your team's morale.
No I dont think so at all. We all knew Modric was eyeing up other clubs last Summer but he still did well for you guys last year right? He's not signing as a matter of principal. (He wants to see the Club show more ambition in the transfer market) I get the impression that he wants to stay but like the rest of us he's fed up with the lack of ambition from the board.
I'm sure they will want to cash in - Wenger on the other hand will want to try and convince him. (and listening to him talk about it that's what he intends to do) If we DO sell him I guarantee the decision will have been the boards and not Wenger's. (incidentally I dont think Wenger intended to sell Nasri - the board took control there)
I would have so much more respect for the Arsenal board and manager if they kept RVP. Selling him would make me think, same old rubbish, on a different day.
I think we should get rid ASAP.He's made it obvious he wants to go,It's time to move on and support the players who want to play for AFC
What Arsenal say will happen and what actually happens are two very different things. Same story year after year
It's risky business selling our best player when Walcott's future is uncertain and we have 2 new players who have not played in the Premiership. I have a feeling that Podolski will be successful, but Giroud i'm not so sure. RVP was so good that it was the difference between 7th place and 3rd place. Also, we don't know what's really happening behind the scenes. Maybe it isn't as bad as you say it is. Maybe RVP doesn't want to leave but he's trying to get a reaction? The proof is, RVP has never on purpose played bad for us.
Arsenal intended to keep Vieira, Nasri, Fabregas, Nasri etc. The guy is gone, just accept it and stop deluding yourself

van Persie would probably prefer to go as free agent, he would get a hefty signing on fee. Even if, however unlikely, he stays at the club, he surely has to be stripped off the captaincy. He will have the same problem as Cesc, the rest of the squad won't follow him anymore if they know that the captain doesn't actually want to be at the club. No player is bigger than the club. Verminator for captain!
You know nothing about the sitaution if that's what you think. They were all sold as part of the current financial plan. In otherwords the board had intended to use our youth strategy as an extra source of income. Fabregas comes through - Sell Viera... Adebayor is brought in - Sell Henry.. Gibbs comes through - Sell Clichy.. Wilshere comes through - Sell Fabregas etc... etc... (the Fabregas sale REALLY backfired because Wilshere picked up a Season long injury)
That is a possibility, but Rooney didn't exactly leave a team that wasn't winning anything. He had won just about everything with Man Utd and they were still league favorites. For him it was a case of 'new adventures' while he was still very young.
I would respect Arsenal if they sell RVP ASAP but will do it on their own terms, not his. That means - forget about ManCity. Let him rot, sorry - win trophies with Juve, Malaga or PSG . That would send a very good message to other players.
Fabregas was not sold as the part of current plan. So was Nasri. And if you use Adebayor-Henry as an example of a "plan", then yes, we have a current plan - Giroud is brought in - sell RVP..
It's not about what Arsenal fans want though. The reality is with one year left on his contract the ball is in his court. His statement last week now means the reality is he cannot remain an Arsenal player much longer. David Dein knows that, most Arsenal fans know that and deep down I'll bet even Wenger knows that
That's NOT THE REALITY. He cannot remain an Arsenal player? ..of course he can. People change their minds all the time.
