There are rumours circulating that RVP is incensed by the potential sale of Cesc and Samir. This has been muted before but if now as seems certain they are done deals and no adequate replacements are signed the word is that RVP has stated he will not want to stay. Is this the final undoing of Wenger?
It's just been discussed on Sky sports News. Charlie Nicholas and Phil Thompsom were giving their reaction to the rumour.
Who's to blame the guy? The house is crumbling on top of his head, if were to be in his position, I will do the same.
He is odds on to go to Man Citeh next week for £20-25 Mill. Mancini has confirmed he wants Nasri and our Board will not turn down that sort of money.
Wenger's played a high risk game for years - now the kids better stand up and produce - or he's toast.
A shame if true. If RVP is unsettled it will be the end of Arsenal IMO, even I would concede that having been their biggest defenders over the last month and a half
I can't see RVP being unsettled to the extent that he would want to leave. He's been a man for us to rely on ( injury apart ) and made of much more loyal material than the departing star and a half.
Utter nonsense, everybody said we would collapse when the great henry left us but we didnt, granted we havent won anything in six years but having said that i would hate to lose RVP he is easily one of our best players, were it not for his injuries im sure he would be hunting down henrys goal scoring record. But gentleman as the man said its is just a rumour, nothing more
I read that god awful article for some reason, and that mug Howard was making assumptions that Van Persie will leave next year because Fabregas and Nasri are about to leave this year. Van Persie knows he owes us. We have stood by him when he got injuries after injuries.
As good as Henry was for Arsenal in his last two seasons you could just sense he wanted a move. He was hollering at team mates, body language wasn't the same and it affected the team. Your entire team was based around him and I said at the end of 05/06 if he left Arsenal wouldn't make top 4 but I felt differently at the end of 06/07. I felt Henry became gradually ineffectual from 06/07 onwards. Arsenal at the time where in a much better position to cope with one or two key players, I don't get the same feeling with this Arsenal squad. I don't think Arsenal will sell RVP this window or next but if he went next summer I'm not sure Arsenal could cope with the loss of their 3 best players in 12 months.
IF good replacements aren't brought in. I wouldn't expect him to stay either. Luckily for you guys though, quality replacements will be brought in, because you guys have a top 4 position to maintain and Wenger knows that his arse is out the door if things start slipping. With Newcastle, on the other hand, even the owner doesn't have much ambition, so we can't be as confident as you guys that any of our best players will be replaced with quality. So yeah, it could be worse
Thats an interesting view, i hadnt considered it to be honest, i will err on the side of optimism on this occasion and i guess time will tell
You do realise that SSN and the BBC often take their sources from the tabloids? Pure laziness, why wait to verify a story as your rivals will have the 'exclusive' if it turns out true. A lot of these people aren't too clever, and it becomes the 'truth'.
He's getting older, I guess. Still, what club would take a chance on a player that gets injured as often as him? Surely only a club with tons of cash like Madrid and City. City have tons of strikers anyway, and Madrid? Hmm...
