Tbf matth what would you expect him to say in an official club interview, his poor form and moody behaviour coincided with Rooney's payrise and from an outsider view he's just angling for a bigger slice of the Utd money cake. But you could be right and he actually passes the ball to Rooney during a game.

He didn't threaten to, he tried to. However, our owners put their foot down and told him he wasn't going. He has since been on fire and signed a new contract. Rooney threatened to leave and you paid him more to persuade him to stay not once, not twice but three times!
