    So we move onto Pedro...
Better in his first spell than his second?
The reason Lineker stood head and shoulders ahead of all other England strikers for so long?
Regardless of the above, and his dashing looks... In his pomp (LFC or NUFC?) if he was available now.. At the top of his game... What would his market worth be?

Me... As a provider of goals and scorer of great goals... He's a Chelsea or a Man Citeh type right now so my view is £35m+..

.. And that may be conservative....

    Over to you..

Stop smoking that wacky backy Chippy. £35M are you having a laugh!!

Think Messi and then think value. Pedro may not have been as good as Messi but he wasn't that far off. He made Waddle and Keegan at Newcastle. He made Aldridge at Liverpool. He made Lineker for England and he made Cole and Shearer second time round at Newcastle. Yes they were all good/great players in their own right but Pedro managed to raise their games to a higher level. He was pure genius and one of the greats Newcastle have ever had. He could pass, he could dribble, he could run with the ball and he could score. He always gave 100% every game and he could inspire.

He is the closest player to my all time Newcastle favourite, Tony Green, in style and ability.

Value as GLIF said on the last thread, priceless. If Bale is worth 85M then there isn't enough money on this planet to buy Pedro both first and second time at Newcastle.

For those not old enough to remember

I'd say £50m. Lineker has said he was the best player he ever played with.

If the likes of Messi or Ronaldo scored ANY of those goals ^^ people would be ****ing themselves silly!! FACT!! The guy was a little genius. £60m+ if he was going abroad, probably £70m+ if it was this country. If Sterling is deemed to be worth nearly £50m how do you put a price on Pedro??

I'd say he would be worth around 35-40m. When he was at his best in the right clubs he was scoring about 1 in 2/2.5, so lets be realistic guys.

He was awesome but not quite the level some people are talking. He'd be worth around 35m or so, HOWEVER - He'd probably wouldn't be let go by a club with half a brain cell for less than 50m.

Sorry Tash but have to disagree, he was that level. He not only scored goals at 1 in 2/2.5 (I'll accept your ratio) but he also made goals for others and made other players e.g. Cole, Lineker etc.

I go back to my Bale example Pedro was far, far better than Bale and if he is worth £85M at his peak, Pedro is worth far, far more.

Pedro was class. Id say 70 million but he had one flaw. He was ugly. So if he looked like say waddle then he would have been a cool 90 million with marketing and stuff. What did I just say. The more I think of it he was similar in style to messi actually.

A proper footballing genius who was brilliant on either foot, today he would have to be worth £70m at least.

Think he'd love the way the game is played today, real class and would be a big transfer among top clubs. 65-70m

    As a 21 year old, £50m. Mid-late twenties, £25-30m.
