Just reading a report in todays press it says that The Polish Tennis Federation spends less than £1Million a year and has two players into the mens quarter finals at Wimbledon and one woman in the womens semi final. The LTA spent £61Million last year and only Andy Murray still standing. Do you think it is poor coaching or lack of desire by our players?

The Polish might have 2 men in the tournament but that is pretty unusual for the Poles, also neither are seeded as high or are as consistent as Murray. Britain has only just began to invest in Tennis - previously it was seen as a sport of the middle classes but that is changing and I think we are beginning to see the fruit of that in the ladies' game with Laura Robson and Heather Watson, along with Andy Murray I think Britain is at the dawn of a new era in Tennis. Incidently, it wasn't so long ago the Americans dominated tennis, now they are few and far between and the eastern Europeans have taken their place, shifting trends happen all the time.

    Great post BTW <ok>

Kyle Edmund looks like he might have a decent future in the game. He's through to the QF of the boy's singles.

It's no coincidence that Andy Murray had to go to Spain to become the player he is. Better weather, better facility and better coaches.

Hopefully with the higher level of investment we'll see a few more coming through soon.
