    If anybody wants a preview of our Valentines Day opponents, Whitley Bay host them today in pre match friendly at Hillheads.

    Northern League side Whitley Bay confirm that they are to host a special friendly match at Hillheads this coming Sunday night, when the opposition will be Newcastle's next Europa League opponents, Metalist Kharkiv.

    Kick-off is at 5pm (note time change at the request of Metalist) and the game is open to the public, with admission by paying at the gate: £10 adults and £5 concessions. The increased admission charges reflect additional costs of the required stewarding.

    As a courtesy to the visitors, Whitley Bay have requested that spectators don't turn up with Newcastle flags, shirts and black & white scarves etc.

    Not bad price that. We've arranged to go to the Europa game, so I think we'll probably give this a miss. Also, all of the clothes I own are black and white <wah>

    Where is the bit about Whitley Bay agreeing to nobble the oppo players and give them special 'Noro' half time oranges? Not that I condone that type of behaviour of course (as those who read my posts on another thread will testify), it's just that I'm intrigued to know more about WB's 'hospitality' plans for their special guests.

    Quite a brave move for me as there could be some naughty tackles. However I think Whitley Bay are a pretty honourable club and will probably play the game in the right manner.
