after shrews gift to the gas last night, to put them back on course to walk the league town now face the difficult part of the season. away to vale and arsenal and home to the gulls

    vale away

a draw or a win would be useful here, last night vale beat the bantams 3-2 in extra time, and have had little experience of playing top teams so far
    results w h bantams 3-2, w a argle 2-0.L a wombles 3-2, L h southend 3-2, w h ackers 4-2d a brewers 1=1 w a barnet 3-1, d h crawley 2-2.

one thing to mention about vale they score a lot and concede a lot of goals

a nice win will set us up for a glory day in london and help celebrate aj's birthday

should be, i understand arsenal were allowing us up to 9000 tickets and sent us about 6000 tickets. last i heard about 4k sold. wish i was going, this is a rare trip to tell your grandchildren about and hand your ticket down to. with arsenal having such a poor start, shrews must have a chance of taking them to penalties, or better. shrews need to be practising taking penalties. arsenal are probably playing a reserve 11, we need our strongest team this is a sh*t or bust game, rowland needs to water his decanter down a bit on the journey down or he may miss morgans goals and bradshaws penalty win. uncle graham needs to go steady on the irn bru too. who are we, we are the shrews from shrewsbury town in gods own county. floreat salopia

I reckon a 2-2 draw like last season, but with Morgan and Bradders scoring, and an attendance of 7231

i do hope we get at least a draw as the gulls who we entertain a week later are, like the millers, unbeaten away

Tough game to call. Another bogey team for us (big list)
    Vale 1-2 Shrewsbury
    Morgan Wroe
    Att: 7600

Are you not sticking your neck out and suggesting Bradshaw AJ?

Just clicked what a crucial game this is too! Ideally a three goal adavantage to town at the final whistle would do us a world of good.

i think it more important to play bradshaw at vale, but believe he should play both, vale score and concede, we need proven scorers. in the absence of gornell i would play marvin and tom up front. there is a time and place for a super sub and vale and the emirates are not them. remember tom has played in large international stadia and will not be overawed by that run down team in north london. we need goals graham and we need loads of penalty taking practice. i hope our 2 internationals are playing

From what I read of the deal, a lot of the US money seems to be connected to the stadium and infrastructure and "community" projects. It didn't look like a huge increase in the playing budget although I'm sure there'll be some. Besides, we've seen often enough that these things aren't always what they seem.

High time we beat Vale. The ridiculous late "penalty" that gave them a draw at the Meadow cost us promotion just as much as the Wobblers' "goal". But we'll need to up our game for that to happen tomorrow. Not going to be a big away following though, for lots of reasons (5,000 going to Arsenal on Tuesday, high prices at Vale - twice as dear as Arsenal, early kick off, Shrewsbury in national cricket final, not forgetting that a lot are put off this fixture by the too hostile rivalry of some). That said, I think we're going - got about 4 hours to make the final decision!

I think quite a few will go. The last two away matches have been big, one same time as this season and one last game of the season.

Must win game for Shrewsbury but I fear it will be deja-vu with Pope being blown over by a faint gust of wind for a penalty.

Good performance, before Cansdell-Sheriff went off we were all over them, and we made them look comparable to Hereford with two very good goals (particularly the first!). After he went off it was a scrappy affair, Goldson looked very shaky initially, but recovered with some decent moments, and then Smith went charging unnecessarily out and a decent finish meant we finished the first half on the edge of our seats. Vale fans were protesting at the referee not giving them a penalty for their forward sneezing, but, to be fair, he wasn't a great ref. However, there were no major mistakes from him.

Ainsworth, who had been a constant threat, then put us ahead after good work from both Collins and Wright, a tidy finish and reward he really deserves for his form so far this season. Much more comfortable, until they scored and we were really into squeaky bum time, but held on thanks to some great team work, but particularly Macallister and Grandison at CB.

The five added minutes was ridiculous, and tbh it was probably closer to 10 minutes, but we held on with just enough, and nearly scored at one point after good work from the impressive Bradshaw allowed Goldson to drill in a dangerous ball.

All in all, a very good result which we need to build upon against Torquay.
