I hope it is effective but I'll not be rushing out trying to buy 2 shots. I just think it's too early to say there will be no side effects or long term problems.

Not wanting to be negative by the way after all this is the start of the recovery phase.

However you look at it, it has to be positive news and if it doesn't 100% work, hopefully it can be a building platform for other vaccines

Me Don't think there will ever be a 100% effective vaccine, it is after all a virus, like the flu, which hasn't got a 100% effective vaccine.
They will have to show its safety criteria before it is released, so I would have it when it is available.

I have had a flu jab for the last 6 years, after I had a heart attack so am classed as vulnerable. Never had flu in m life, only bad colds, bio better to be safe than sorry.
Plus, if by having a valid vaccine it made my family and friends safer, regardless of me, no-brainer

I'm arguing with folk I work directly with that the reason this had been done so quickly is the volume of scientists and volunteers throughout the world working on this and only this is unprecedented and unlike anything we have ever seen in it lifetimes. It doesn't matter though as it's too quick, 'you won't convince me, it's my body I'll do what I want with it'

Even if it's only 90% it still effectively kills the virus as the 90% of 70m people act as a fire break for its transmission.

So even if it doesn't work on you personally, you are still going to be much much safer than today.

Just been reading that the researchers had been striving for a vaccine with a 50% success rate, so a vaccine with a 90% success rate is staggering.

Finally get my new business launched in the New Year. :1980_boogie_down: <cheers>

I'll have one aye,it's about protecting others not yourself really, unless you're vulnerable. Great news, just hope they can get it out and administered quickly and easily once last bits and pieces concluded.

Fantastic news. Although the working class won't get a sniff of it for at least 2 years.
    1. Rich
    2. Vulnerable
    3. Emergency services/NHS
    4. Education ie teachers
    5. High risk areas
    6. Working class and everyone else.

I just hope that those that need it most get it first.
