It’s funny seeing rashford stay on while being so ****. He got at TAA once in first first 2 minutes and after that, didn’t get close to causing him any kind of trouble. Also notable seeing TAA and his defending seems to be better so far. Maybe it’s impressing the new manager, maybe it’s new system etc, but he seems to have added bit of effort in getting to the man now. He’s always been quick just never really shows it but he’s doing basics a lot better. Rather than getting square and hoping forward runs into him, he’s just getting his body into the player now to at least make them do something to beat him.

Only once we went 3 goals up. We were certainly the better team, but I get what he was saying as far as it could have been different. Until the first goal went in, it really felt like a toss up who was going to win. The first goal won the game. (Not saying we would have collapsed if conceded first... But it certainly changed the game for United at the moment we scored, after that we were in ascendance) One big difference in the game came down to, we have a world class keeper and their keeper is shiite. Then once we hit the second United just fizzled for a long time... Fizzled until about the 70th minute, but I think that was more us, than them. We clearly switched to a mostly defensive strategy in the last 20 minutes and that allowed United to flatter themselves a little.
TBF, that's exactly what Harry Potter would say. I'm not convinced after the second goal that United hadn't just given up and were just hoping they would catch the snitch to win the quidditch game that way.
I always felt we were on top. Football being what it is, a game can always swing against the run of play but I never felt they threatened much. Although it was fairly even for a while, they never even had a shot during that early period and we'd already had a goal chalked off.
We may not have signed many new players, but Gravenberch is like a new one compared to last season. Klopp didn't seem to know what to do with him, but Slot is getting some good stuff out of him.
