4pm Sunday 4th at Highbury flats Can Londons 4th biggest club win their first game of the season or will the club the the most fans from London win again? Quick fackt Table toppers UTD have never in over 100 attempts lost to Arsenal
The one area Arsenal are definitely better than us is the GK department. We are so lucky we kept hold of De Gea so we have one World Class GK, Arsenal of course have TWO world class GK's as confirmed by Wenger in his recent interviews. We're very lucky he can only play one of them at a time. Let's hope Ospina gets the nod again to reward him for his good form and general world-classiness.
Let's hope Rooney gets rested and he comes back hungrier but I can't see it happening, we'll probably go with the same team as in the CL. Rooney will probably score a brace because of all the negative comments, I won't mind... Even though it's at the Emirates I think we'll win 2-1. Draw won't be a bad result usually but given their form I wan't an upgrade to a win!
he'll probably play twice as hard and score twice as many goals having read the **** that people have posted here.
Not sure this is a winning thread, we're away for a start so it should read Arsenal v United. That's a bad omen. That all said, they are ****e and we are not so I expect nothing but an emphatic win for our team. The lilly livered southern ****s are scared of us for a start. As always.
I've got a good feeling about this one. It's Arsenal and regardless of how we play I think we'll do a number on them and beat them by 2 or 3 goals. Just got a feeling this will be a good result. Not too fussed about our attack, but I'd like to see a back 5 of -------------------------DDG Darmian--------Smalling------Jones---------Blind
Wouldn't mind seeing Darmian Smalling Blind Young No idea why Young was brought on as RB though the other day, it would have made much more sense to move Darmian to the right and put Young on the left.
Yeh I'd agree with all that. Young is better on the left. Darmian on the right. My only doubt is against the Arsenal attack he may struggle. Just hope to fck Valencia doesnt start.
Valencia isn't needed if Darmian starts on the right, they have a choice of two fast left backs and Sanchez but Darmian is as fast as **** and has enough positional sense to cope with them (in tandem with Smalling). With Shaw out we need Young on the left to back up Memphis in attack. At CB I think Blinds reading of the game will be of more use than Jones combative nature against technical players.
It will be Blind there. LVG wont get away from that left foot right foot thing. Young should be able to cope but tbh I bet he's going to play Darmian and Valencia. He'll see the last 2 results and think it's fine to continue
I can see the merits in this in some way. If Arsen plays Walcott/Oxo on the right Darmian has the speed to cope with them, not sure Young does, that would leave Valencia's speed (though not ability) to cope with the other flank.
It'll be weird putting Ramsay on the right, but Walcott up front may not be a bad move. I think he'd be more of a threat than Giroud.
Lawro's prediction: 2-0 Manchester United are top of the league and lots of things are working well for Louis van Gaal at the moment. Their midfield is very good at shielding their defence and their combination at centre-back of a skilful player in Daley Blind and an out-and-out stopper in Chris Smalling is working well. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger comes into this game on the back of making a big mistakeby playing David Ospina in goal against Olympiakos instead of Petr Cech. Wenger will come in for some serious stick if his side lose this game too, but I have a funny feeling that Arsenal will end up winning on Sunday - it would be typical of the Gunners if they do. This guy is an idiot. That last line of "Typical of the Gunners if they do". Does he ever give United a chance? And to suggest that Arsenal's shoddy defence would not concede a goal against an attacking unit that has scored 15 goals in the last 5 games. I hope he is in for a shocker yet again.
Arsenal have beaten us once in the last 12 league games, typical yeah ****ing right. It's a good thing that Lawro has predicted an Arsenal win, he's usually wrong!
Lawro is a moron. Once again he has Liverpool heading for an unbeaten season while Everton are in relegation trouble (scroll down to the league table at the bottom of the page). http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34403907
