Old Trafford, 9th March, 19:45pm Live on the BBC. With UTD dominating every team, week in week out will they show the French Cockneys more of the same, or will my superior match day thread create another draw?
Just can't see gunners delivering in a big game like this. They may get fourth place trophy though to go with their last 16 CL cup
Me neither. I am resigned to it but I can see getting the points or winning the matches. Wenger has got the psychological block with United. He'll be cagey and play a game similar to the Etihad one but he'll be disappointed. United play a different game. LVG's motto is "Possession is all. No need to go forward, or shoot at the goal or you'll lose it"
Bcos Custard has done the thread I expect two draws and penalties going on and on and on resulting in the cancellation of all further matches...LVG being sacked mid-penalty no. 2786 and Wenger claiming his team is demonstrating incredible "mental strength"
Possibility #1: A flukey wayne rooney toe poke changes directions after hitting a patch of Johhny Evan's phlegm, ricochets off 3 arsenal players and crosses the goal line by 1mm (the cameras were later checked and the FA advises that they were not calibrated correctly and it was in fact, not a goal)....De Gea is the man of the match Possibility #2: Mertesacker scores 2 own goals, 5 Arsenal players get ligament damage and 1 contracts hepatitis c.......De Gea is the man of the match Possibility #3: Utd play like they have been all season, Arsenal create a ton of chances, carving Utd apart time after time and finally put one away and win......De Gea is the man of the match
Quite happy Gabriel is out for arsnl. He's looked solid. Instead Mertesacker at the back. Got a feeling if we win this it will be the Carrick+Rooney show with a strong cameo from Young. Play Rooney up front with Mata behind. Young and Januzaj either side and Carrick + Herrera in CM. Got a feeling it wont be Mata sadly but Fellaini instead.
I'm less worried by Arsenal than I would be against any of the other sides left in. I just can't see us losing to them (jinx right there). They might get a draw though and then we'll probably **** it up in the replay but I think we'll win this. 2-1 or 2-0.
More interested in winning the league game but this could br a massive boost going into some tough fixtures.
One of the best games I ever saw live was Arsenal v United at Highbury, back in 1997 I think it was. Arsenal took a 2-0 lead then United pulled it back to 2-2, then Lee Dixon I believe it was, scored a great looping header from a corner to make it 3-2. (Could have been Bould actually now I think....long time ago). I also remember Ian Wright ****ing up a one on one with Schmeichel. EDIT: Just googled it, was Platt who scored the header.....must be getting alzheimers.
I just get the feeling that it'll be an open game, both defences can be dodgy and both attacks have the potential to put goals away. It'll be 0-0 now you watch.
