But he was just as involved in the tournement as new signing Fabio Borini, so there could be a bigger reason to this. I also know that some players, for example Carroll, will join the squad later on, as they get extended breaks following the euros. This squad see's good opportunities handed to Aquilani, Cole and Pacheco, who have to impress, and youngsters Sterling, Suso and Wilson, who will be looking to establish themselves in the first team next season.
