Bargain bucket edition.... use this thread for USA and Brazil grand prix chat! I will try something clever come brazil to add a new prediction Poll!!!
I'll be watching hatchbacks ragging it around north Wales instead I've gone for the unfancied Vettel again. Daniil Kvyat has gained his super-licence and will sit in for JEV in FP1 this Friday in US then RIC in Brazil. Also there will be two DRS zones this year with the new one being on the pit straight
I've voted Hulk because I'm voting for Brazil Nah, but I'm bored of the Vettel winning so I've voted a random guy out of the hat.
Bored of F1... Dominance is not a good thing for the viewing figures.. Will still watch, even after the first turn. Vettel will win by nearly a minute if allowed to push or about 30 secs if they rein him back!
Sounds like Luca is a bit pissed off with Alonso rumours. I feel sorry for Alonso, he might be forced to race while not at 100%.
If the old folks are all going down with Lumbago, shouldn't they retire? Seriously though, I don't think anyone doubts Fernando's commitment but the must be a big question mark again over Kimi's.
Dimi PAPADOPOULOS ‏@f1enigma 14m Lotus wont use Valsecchi Hmm if this is correct I wonder if we might get a surprise driver? Translation:
The fact Lotus are taking so long over it would suggest it isn't Valsecchi or d'Ambrosio. It's got way too late for it to be Hulkenberg. Kovalainen would be such a boring choice.
The story has got as far as this: Will Buxton ‏@willbuxton 1h Bild and @NicolaBILD reporting Hulkenberg has turned down Lotus offer to drive in Austin and Sao Paulo . . . . Dimi PAPADOPOULOS ‏@f1enigma 1h @willbuxton @NicolaBILD I think the next best option is Kovalainen Kovi is looking ever more likely is seems.
Well he was the ultimate 'super sub' driver. Still think its tragic he only did not get a win in F1 because of team orders.
I've gone for Lewis this weekend because I believe he is good for at least two wins this year and he won last year
Kovalainen is pretty much guaranteed the Lotus seat now, we're just waiting for Lotus to admit what we all know. Got to feel for Valsecchi, a reserve driver who gets overlooked when actually needed
With such a short stint in the car in very difficult conditions i can't see it doing a lot of good to anyone's career (hence why Hulk turned it down) so they'd need to be fairly desperate for a seat, and Lotus want someone who has driven an f1 car recently in order to have a hope in hell of scoring points. Kovalainen fits those two conditions the best. There was never really a lot of other candidates. Petrov? Senna? De la Rosa? Kobayashi's tied to ferrari...
Lotus are quickly gaining a reputation for treating their employees pretty poorly. What's the point of having a reserve driver if you never use them when they actually might be required? I feel for Davide i know it took him a few years to win GP2 but this year nothing has gone right for him, it's what probably lies in store for Leimer as well.
