Can Andy Murray repeat his success at the Olympics and finally win a Grand Slam? I predicted he would win Olympic gold (no really, I did!) and I'm putting my neck on the line by predicting that he WILL win the US Open. Since losing in the Wimbledon final to Federer, Murray seems to have grown stronger mentally. The fact that he reached two Olympic finals and beat Federer so comfortably in the singles is evidence of this. There's a confidence and maturity about him that wasn't there before. Fingers crossed that he can convert that into Grand Slam wins.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/jonathanoverend/2012/08/can_britains_murray_win_us_ope.html There is much talk going around of Andy making this tournament his, let's hope he doesn't dissapoint.
Murray to play Alex Bogomolov Jr in the 1st round. He actually lost to him in their previous encounter 6-1 7-5.
Andy is 2 sets up at this moment, Bogomol playing well but Andy stepping up another gear to take 2nd set.
Phew, I thot muzza had pulled a hamstring for a minute at the end of the third set, think it was just cramp. Needs to work on his serve over the next few days
Didn't see it but it seems like he made quite a few unforced errors and his serving was below standard. Mind you, it's always best to start poorly and improve as the competition goes on. Bit worrying if he's getting cramp after three sets though. But you know Andy, he's becoming a bit of a drama queen on court.
Andy Murray takes the first 2 sets with tie-breaks but the Spaniard Feliciano Lopez looking very dangerous and Andy seemingly not at his best yet.
Andy now looking tired and listless losed the 3rd set 4-6, he just doesn't look comfortable out there!
I didn't say I was going to tell the story....just that I had one. I think you are a little harsh on him there. He is pulling it out of the fire. He finds a way more often than not.
Ah typical building us up only to dissapoint! I do like Andy Murray but he does tend to use injuries as an excuse when he is off form. Sounds like he is back in the match a bit now but he isn't finding Lopez a pushover.
He is struggling but he is certaiy not right. His serves have dropped in pace. So dogged. And that is what counts here. Tough bastard. Murray just won a point on break point down that they called the best point ever.
