I don't think you'd need $1.3bn to buy QPR. I reckon you could get it for the book value of the players, the current owners would bite your arm off.
Let's start a fans' consortium! What would I do with $1.3b which is £894m? Retire, sort the family out, Aston Martin, travel for a year then set up trust fund to give away the interest in bursaries, probably for education.
"If I win I'm going to buy QPR. What would you guys do?" Advise you to buy an airline, maybe a racing car team as well, just for starters. Hit tweeter to make rash comments, splash the cash on 'over the hill' players, sack, hire a number of managers. Don't follow thru on your promises. Hire a DoF to stuff the club big time, not because we need one but because it sounds cool. In other words, more of the same of what we have and we'd be none the wiser there was a change in ownership.
Buy the R's. Put a 5 to 10 year plan in place so that in the last 8 to 10 years of my plan, the first team would consist of players that have been scouted, then developed and trained in the QPR way. Still have a scouting system in place so that older players can be purchased and brought in, but emphasis on home grown . Purchase land for a new ground. To include parking for fans (yep.....I am hoping the fans would buy into my plans). Salaries for the players.....Basic salary (nothing like the stupid wages some earn now), however there would be an amount set aside to reward on success. (That could even mean staying in the FA Cup to the 4th round!!). Ensure friends and family are looked after and are debt free. Invest in the Cancer Charity I work for will get supported as will dementia care - looking into causes and cures. I would probably travel a bit as well......but that's all for now
