Just posted on the Wickham thread about this, seen this morning. Abel is a quick, agile striker, left sided, not a massive goalscorer about a 1 in 3, but contributes a lot by drifting wide and receiving the ball. He's incredibly good in the air, and a big feature of his is his turning ability, something that could be very, very useful in the system we are working towards. We've been linked a couple times in the past but there seems real substance to this, it's understood that Palermo told a few players they 'must stay' and get them out of Serie B last season, but that some were promised tho opportunity to leave if this was achieved. It was. I'd be very happy with this signing, although there would be a period of adjustment, I think we can handle that with Fletch fit & Jozy having a year behind him and a fresh slate.
Very true mate! He's a very good footballer this lad and he'd be an asset, he has been known to play the channels as well so that will appeal to Gus. Gus has been open about his desire for a Uruguayan international or 2, so I reckon there's legs in this.
I think this would be a very good signing for us. I just hope that if it's between us and Southampton we don't miss out by trying to penny pinch.
