I am out here in Uruguay at the moment. Gus is a bit of a legend here, not many Sunderland fans though, its all bloody Man U and whoever Suarez is playing for. I am actually at a very interesting event tonight hosted by all the guys who bought QPR. I am going to try and get some dirt, I went for a drink with one chap the other night who knows Ellis Short and he had very good things to say about him. I had not realised all these guys I am working with were involved in football as well as motor racing, its been quite an eye opener. Anyway how did we get on today? Did we ever look like winning??
I don't know about that, I just got lucky and ended up working on a project thats introduced me to some interesting people. I have not managed to get any real gossip get.
No real juicy gossip to report I am afraid. I got told mostly what we already know. Ellis was extremely pissed off by the failiures of Bruce and Mon as his investment in their teams was substantial. He does not want us bumping around the bottom of the league and really wants us considerably up the table. He is not going to blow a load on money on Gus right away becuase of the mon disaster. He will though support Gus if the right players become available. Apparently Short is a really nice guy, but extremely smart and he will not stay with us forever if the league position does not improve. He loves the fans and thinks we are the best in the league. So nothing great I am afraid. I am working with the same people again at the start of Jan so will try and get some transfer news.
During the Liverpool game there was a quick shot of ES and the commentator mentioned that he had paid out 156mil on players so far.
