We have managed to upset our welsh friends by moving the away supporters from the South stand to the more expensive West Stand, they are even talking about a possible boycott. <yikes> <wah> <yikes>

Sky Sports have shifted the fixture to the Sunday morning which means Cardiff City fans are being charged £36 to get up at the crack of dawn and travel 230 miles to Leeds where they’ll be housed in the most rundown area of Elland Road.

The club’s decision to make cheaper tickets available to home fans by freeing up the South Stand, makes sence but this doesn’t change the fact that Elland Road is seriously overpriced. Research from The Square Ball shows LEEDS UTD HAVE THE FIFTH HIGHEST TICKET PRICES IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY – topped by only four Premier League teams – and a recent survey conducted by The Scratching Shed showed less than 4% of fans felt our ticket pricing represented value for money.

Ouch! Something will clearly give soon. It would be interesting though if we were to get promoted this season to see what our Lord & Master does with ticket prices. His oft heard comment has been if you want PL football, you have to pay PL prices. Were we to get PL football, would he raise the ticket prices even more?

Given what happened to some Welsh fans recently, allegedly at the hand of some Cardiff supporters, not sure I'm that bothered if Cardiff elect not to come to ER. At least West Yorkshire plod will have a slighly easier time of things.

Heyho, onto Donny tomorrow & hopefully 3 more points. MOT

Were Papa Smurf ever to sell his controlling interest, first & best thing a new chairman could do would be to make every Tuesday night a Cat C AND reduce the price of cat C games, whilst at the same time either reduce ticket prices in general or freeze them for at least two years.

Amazed that we're allegedly No. 5 in England for ticket prices. Rather says a lot really, especially in these hard economic times.

Two Swansea fans were attacked at a recent Wales match. Nothing to do with dodgy central european fans. Apparently they were fellow welsh fans who happened to support Cardiff. Not sure where the story's got to, but not good news all round

Cardiff fans have every right to boycott it. Modern football prices are disgusting. They should look towards the main culprits at the football authorities first though - they're the only ones with real power to stop the money madness. Any club action to charge cheap ticket prices would overall be a drop in the ocean. That said, Bates takes it to a new level. These are probably record averate ticket prices at second division level, perhaps anywhere in the world. Newcastle and Derby show that sensible ticket prices attract fans and probably make you as much or more money when you think of fan commitment in those other one-club cities.

Personally, I'm glad that the away section's been moved to the West Stand as it opens up cheaper tickets for Leeds fans and helps create a better atmosphere when the South Stand's open. But I can see where they're coming from when they complain.

There's 4 teams alone in the Championship that have a higher "most expensive ticket" so I don't know what you're on about. The survey you're on about is the season ticket one, which is irrelevant for this post. Leicester, West Ham, Ipswich and Derby charge more in the expensive parts of their stadium. 11 other Championship clubs have a more expensive "cheap ticket".

Season tickets determine the average price which is the only fair indicator to go by. Most expensive ticket is pretty irrelevant when comparing clubs in this way since it's only used by most a couple of times a season. In total, no club in this division will charge more for tickets than Leeds do.

On the thread, think QPR fans have been shafted by expensive tickets this season, think clubs should realise people are struggling with life without extortionate prices for a bit of entertainment, people will vote with their wallets, stay home buy a few cans and try and find a stream on the net.
