NOT TO BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yesterday's wins for Arsenal and Man City mean they join Liverpool in being safe from relegation and Aston Villa's win ended Luton's dreams of Champions League football next season.

Wins for Leeds and Ipswich secured their Championship status while Rotherham are now all but out of the race for the play offs.

In League One Portsmouth need to keep the champagne on ice. They could only manage a draw at Charlton, which means they need another point to ensure they can't drop into League Two. Meanwhile Carlisle's dreams of hosting Championship football are still alive, thanks to Leyton Orient's win at Oxford.

It's very close in League Two. Indeed it's a twenty four horse race as both Mansfield and Stockport still need another win to dismiss the unthinkable drop through the trap door into non-league football.
But Crewe's win over Notts County means that Sutton Utd's only path into League One will be though the play offs

I thought I'd update this as it's been a few weeks....

    Starting in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest's dreams of European football next season were dashed when they were held to a draw by Luton. But Brentford's aspirations live on after Tottenham were spanked by Fulham.

    In the Championship
Norwich are just one win away from securing their place in the second tier, while Sheffield Wednesday's Play Off ambitions are hanging by a thread after being hit for six by Ipswich.

    In League One
Oxford's win at Port Vale means they are finally safe from relegation, while Cheltenham can say goodbye to any thoughts they had of reaching the play offs after they were held to a draw by Barnsley

    In League Two
Wimbledon's defeat at home to Newport means that the door to the play offs is still open, albeit barely ajar, for Forest Green Rovers. But their defeat yesterday, coupled with Barrow's draw with Harrogate secured League status for The Bluebirds.

    In the National League
York City's win over Aldershot means their play off push is still alive. It also means that The Shots are still looking over their shoulders, as they search for that elusive point that keeps them safe from the drop

    In National League North
Bishop's Stortford were relegated yesterday after losing at Alfreton Town. The win goes a long way to securing National League North status for the Reds, who need just another point to stay up

    In National League South
Dartford's defeat in the six-pointer against Maidstone finally ended their dreams of a play off place, whist the result meant safety for The Stones.

I could go on into the lower leagues but I expect you're already asleep by now <laugh>
