It´s amazing what a win can do After two poor results, The smiles are back and belief too Instead of scowls and sulks And good that Neil is managing To keep a level head, To lose his would be damaging And lead us all to dread No signs of that though, none at all As far as I can see, From day one he set out his stall Aiming for victory Whether or not he´ll get his way We won´t know hereabouts, Yet, although he´s not fallen prey To many lingering doubts There have been downs, if only slight Along his winding trail, But they have soon been put to right Before they turned us stale Impressive that, for one so young When older, wiser men, Find it hard up on the top rung And fall off it again It would be nice, before the end To see how Neil copes, With the top rung, as it would lend Us to have high, high hopes I´m not giving up on that yet Although with such a pack, Chasing it down, I´d like to bet We´ll have to watch our back So as we round the final bend In this, what, eight horse race, I hope we have enough to send Us to an auto place. OTBC - INIT Have a good afternoon, and enjoy your break
Brilliant RBF and I for one am not 'counting any chickens' yet - far too many twists and turns to negotiate before May. I'm keeping May 25th free - just in case!!!!
Yes indeed it is and even if we need it and get there I'm not sure if I could cope with the highs and lows of such an occasion!!!!
If and when and what if and whatever, I shall be putting my feet up, in hopefully some sunshine, and willing them all the best - not a lot more any of us can do really. Let´s hope we don´t need it!
Funny thing is, I've got very little recollection of the 2002 final. I remember the two semis against Wolves quite well, but the final is a bit of a memory blank.
